Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if any of you share my thoughts on today's manufactured foods causing major hormonal problems in women? It seems we live a very unnatural lifestyle these days, I am just wondering if anyone else thinks this can contribute to peri symtoms on a large scale? Does anyone believe that dairy foods and chicken meat in particular are contributors to hormonal imbalances and can anyone please tell me why soy is recommended and what good does it do?

Does anyone have any natural remedies - HRT is not for me, don't trust it, don't want it and Doctors always recommend it.

Have you read of Dearest's experience with soy? It's nothing short of stunning. Not sure where the link on here is, but I know it's not hard to find. She swears by the Revival soy products. You can go on their website. They are wonderful people; willing to answer questions like yours.

In response to what you said about food, my theory is yes, it's possible today's society is consuming hormones in it's dairy, meat and possibly other (?) products...the entire food industry scares the pants off me because although it's supposed to be 'regulated'; the goal is money and profit. Its been discussed here on Power Surge before....young girls are getting their periods at 10, 9, even 8 years old these days. It's common. Back in 1972 when I started menstruating at age 10, I was an aberration. The school nurse refused to believe I even had my period until my mother called to confirm it. When my daughter was that age (9 years ago) more than half the girls in her class had their periods by the fourth grade.

I try to avoid processed food at all costs. When it comes to eggs, I guy only organic, and the same goes for meats. It's hard, because these more natural alternatives are also more expensive. If you live near a farm, it can be worth it to buy from local growers.

Just my 2 cents. Eager to hear what others have to think....

Neither is soy very recommended if you have any thryoid problem, and I found the soy in theraputic amounts to give me bloating. For boosting estrogen naturally, my experiment with grapefruit (yes, published studies shows it increases a type of estrogen) might help a bit...does seem to for me...and you can search online for more inifo on this as I do not give medical advice to anyone....we all react differently to hormones....bioidenticals did not work for me in any shape, amount or form....some find that accupuncture helps increase the hormones a bit and get you over the hump.... worked for my friend but not for me...we are all different and unfortunately no magic pill.....I try to stay away from plastic bottled drinks and I make almost all the food we eat....no frozen dinners or such...cooking simple really does not take that much time...how long does it take to make a salad with LOTS of stuff in it? Hi everyone:

I have been leery of processed foods. I buy organic meats, veggies and eggs. I do drink soy milk (as i love the taste). I have always wondered what was in the foods we eat. You just don't know and it has always worried me.
