I have just received the results of a vaginal swab taken by my GP and she said it showed 'Coliform' bacteria which normally is present when you have a urine infection but I had a urine sample tested at the same time and that was fine. My GP has therefore said that she doesn't think it's worth treating. When I originally went to see her I was having pelvic pain/discomfort, and pain in my kidney area and also discomfort related to acid reflux. Whilst waiting for the results of the swab and urine test I had to see another GP at the surgery because the symptoms of the acid were getting worse and I was put on to Lansoprazole, which I have had before and they normally help quite quickly. On this occasion they haven't and although I don't have the pelvic discomfort at the moment, I still have the pain in the kidney area and in my back and upper abdomen. Does anyone know if there is any link between the coliform and the problems I'm having, I feel lousy but can't seem to get any real answers as to why and now I'm being told there is a bacteria present but it's not going to be treated and I'm very confused.
