Hi all
I really need your ideas and thoughts on this one ladies.
I have been posting on the forum about my problem with external itching. There is no thrush or infection but the itching has been persistent and I had itched so much that the skin in the external area had broken, and was soooo sore and painful.
On Friday my GP prescribed a topical estrogen cream.
I used it on Friday evening, twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. At 5.00 am on Monday morning I woke up and my legs felt achy and my lower tummy felt as if I was going to have a period. It was a mild ache but it was there.
I decided not to use the estrogen cream at all yesterday. Last night I went out and when I came home I noticed a brownish discharge. My period is not due for 10 days and I never have a problem with any kind of discharge between periods.
Since the blurb/instructions with the cream says that breakthrough bleeding is a possible side effect I assumed that was what it was.
The only other time in my life this has happened was when I tried to use the mini pill and had the same problem.
I went to see my GP this morning and he says that it is nothing to do with the estrogen cream.
He said 'That is like saying a woman coloured her hair and then the Tsunami happened'???????????????????
Can anyone here explain this to me??? If anyone has some experience of this I would love to hear it.
Thanks
robin
