Hello and thanks for reading. I finally found a kind doctor to let me try the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy after refusing to take the premaren or other pills. I just turned 31 and I have been off the estrogen for a year now. Any side effects I should be warned of before I take these? I was prescribed Biest 1.25 progesterone 50 and testosterone 1 mg. Is this a normal starting dose? Thanks again.

how are you doing on your hormone cream? I had a complete hysterectomy back in 84 and just over the past few years I have had BAD daily anxiety. I started going to an acupuncturist and he put me on an OTC progesterone cream and within 10 days I felt so much better. I found a DO Dr. who my insurance will pay for and he just put me on a bio identical hormone cream. Mine are all in one, are yours?
My doses are: 125mg. progesterone, 4mg. bi-est and 2mg. of testosterone. I just started tonight. SCARY!!
I was on the vivelle estrogen patch but this dr. didn't like the patch and wanted to switch me to the bi-est.

Hi Darby,
I had a hysterectomy in '99 and have been on patches, biest, progesterone and testosterone. I am currently using a Climara patch for my estrogen and use a compounded testosterone cream a couple times a week. I use an OTC progesterone cream for 10 days a month just to balance the E. When I was using the biest cream I had the testosterone in a seperate cream. This allows for dose adjustments of one hormone without affecting the dose of the other two.

hmm... next time I go in to see my dr. I'm going to ask him about having the creams separate. Unless I do ok with what he has me on. Have you heard of anyone on the compound creams - all in one syringe? He probably did it for cost sake. This is my first time on compound creams and I didn't know if they would come separate or together and now I'm hearing from others that it is better to have them separate.

Darby,
Its been 24 years since your total hyst and you are still having symptoms? This doesnt make me feel very hopeful. I had my TVH 2.5 years ago. I thought at some point we stop going through all these icky motions and feelings and somehow balance out. I am so sick and tire of how I feel most of the time. I just want to know when this will all end.
