Help! I don't know what to do. I was put into surgical menaopause 4 weeks ago when I had my remaining ovary removed due to a hemorragic cyst, adhesions and endometriosis. I had a hysterectomy with other ovary removal 7 years ago. I have suffered with depression previously during hormone imbalances and have been on Lexapro for years. My doctor gave me the Vivelle dot .1 with I took for about 2 1/2 weeks and then they changed me to Climara .1. I was actually beginning to do a little better on the Vivelle dot but it was wearing off by the second day. Since I started the Climara patch on Saturday, I am on an emotional roller coaster. I can't sleep, can't stop crying and feel like I am losing my mind. I called my internist and she changed me to Zoloft. I just filled the prescription but am concerned about changing over. I've left a message for the pharmacist. I don't know what do to. I even started going to a therapist. My husband doesn't know what to do with me. I need some kind of support system. I called my gyn's office and he is out of the office until MOnday so I the nurse will talk to him them. I can't wait that long. I'd love to find a facility that could see me to give me some support and help me with my hormones. I don't know what to do. Thanks so much for listening to me. sad.gif

P.S. Anyone have experience with Zoloft?

Dara,

Oh my you are having a difficult time like so many of us. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Zoloft and can only offer you support and encouragement. I was the exact same way a little over a year ago and had to try different things. Lexapro helped me until I developed side effects....I was on it for 3 months and had to go off but all that crying, sleeplessness, etc., got better. What is your concern about changing over to Zoloft? You can try a low dose to see what happens. My feeling is if you need something, take it....and I'm not a pill pusher by any means...just suffering through this the best I can.

Hugs,
Karen

Hi, Dara,

I am so sorry that you are feeling so poorly. I am no doctor, but if I were in your shoes, I would go to an emergency room and get evaluated. This may sound like a drastic step, but it sounds like you need some relief NOW.

In my opinion, this is not the time to discontinue the lexapro as it sounds like you already have a lot going on.
