Help! My right eye is twitching on the bottom lid. This has been occurring for the past several months. I went to the eye doctor and was given a new prescription and she said that I did have a little fungus on my eyelids but I have been using a wipe to clean that. After new reading glasses and the wipes, my eyes felt great but now the twitching is back and it is driving me crazy, plus my eye is worn out at night.

Has anyone ever had this happen, are there any solutions?

Many thanks,
Vanessa

Hi Coopersmom!
If your eye is worn out - do you perhaps need glasses? My eyesight got worse rather quickly once I'd reached meno... huh.gif
Re twitching - I get this with anxiety sometimes. I ignore it and try to relax... biggrin.gif
Don't know if there's any other solution.
As your doctor has checked your eyes, I wouldn't let it bother me - easier said than done, I know.
But usually if we get all worked up about something it only makes it worse.
Good luck! Jonie

Thanks Joni, the doctor did prescripe stronger reading glasses which seemed to help. I would just "let it go" but it is making my eye very weary and it just plain is very annoying! Tonight we kept the lights in the den very low and that helped a little, I am also using some drops. Vanessa

Hi Coopersmom,
Not to make you feel worse but I had a twitching bottom eyelid for 3 months straight - thought I'd go crazy. I went to GP and then to my eye specialist. They could find nothing wrong and said that it would go away by itself and it did and yes my eye felt worn out at the end of each day too. I have had new prescriptions but have never had any twitching because of them. I now find that if I am anxious I do get the twitching back sometimes but it has never lasted as long since. Hope your eye is feeling at least a bit better. Arla.

Hi Coopersmom: Yeah, I've had the eye twitching thing too...the longest one lasted 6 months. But it did go away. It's just one of those things that happens. Try not to worry about it too much. Get as much rest as you can; I've noticed that when I'm run down or fatigued they happen more often....

I have heard that calcium intake helps relieve eye twitching,
It is worth a try.

Thanks for the calcium suggestion, I will try that. I am glad to know I am not the only one this has happened too! Vanessa

Calcium worked!!! Thanks Pamela, I would have never correlated to two together but I added the extra calcium and the twitching has stopped. I really appreciate your suggestion.

Wow, thanks for sharing Coopersmom and Pamela. I'll also try it next time (I hope there isn't one) my eye decides to drive me crazy. rolleyes.gif Arla.
