So does anyone else get them about 20x/day....I have tried Oil of Primrose which actually really helped for about 6 weeks but then it stopped working, then tried Bela (RX); it didn't help at all, then Effexor which definitely reduced the flashes/night sweats about 60% but made my IBS-constipation MUCH worse, so now I am going off the Effexor and gave in to starting a lose of Femhrt...only been on Femhrt for 4 days now ... how long does it take to kick in ? I have the night sweats every 45min to 1 hour at night...so forget about sleep...this is ridiculous...

Hi and Welcome-
I have been on the lowest dose of FemHrt for about 5 weeks now, and my hot flashes have pretty much disappeared. I am still occasionally waking up with a night sweat. I probably wasn't having the flashes as often as you, maybe at times I was though! Hard to tell in the summertime!
Anyway - you should start seeing some relief in about two weeks. At least that was the way it happened for me. It may take a month or more to see really good results.
Good luck and hang in there!
keep us posted on how you are doing!

Thanks so much for replying.....I pray I feel the relief in another week as that is when I will have completely come off the Effexor!...it is crazy...I keep my house FREEZING...I am so cold til 'it' comes and then even colder afterward as I am all wet...nasty!...will let you know...it's nice to know I'm not the only one but it does seem that I haven't met anyone with as many as I get..

at one point when I was better 'therapies', I got them almost every 5 minutes for about 2 days...

ok; well it has now been 12 days on Femhrt and the flashes are definitely reducing...maybe 5 per day and 4 or 5 at night...and the night ones are not AS wet...yesterday was my last Effexor...

so how are you doing at 6 weeks on the Femhrt...I am praying that these flashes keep diminishing...please keep in touch with me and let me know how you continue to do and if there are any other side effects...I don't notice any negative side effects on femhrt and hope I won't...
