As i advance through my forties I find I have more and more skin changes. I have found a small flea size round goosebump thing on my arm. Itis pink and raised and has a tiny tiny littele hard ball like thing in it? any clues? I also have a perfectly tound, again like a flea bite , very slightly raised flesh colored thing on my upper breast, not hard at all, small too.

I also have various little skin tags, i think they call them, sort of things that are like moles but hanging. I see the dermotologist annually although she hasd not seen my latest thing on my upper arm. Do we become a nesting home for weird growths as we get older? Does anyone else get this stuff and knowwo what it is?

Could it be a bite of some kind? Or perhaps a boil? Maybe an ingrown hair? Doesn't sound like a big problem but if you are worried about it you might give your dermotologist a call to see what they think.

As I am prone to worrying about everything I do have an appt. Still curious if others have these oddities.

Yes to the skin tags. Why in the world am I getting this tings? they are on my neck. There is arround 6 of them. Is this due to hormones too? I am glad you brought this up. Maybe we can get some answers on this?

As for skin tags, a couple of weeks ago, I boiled a pair of scissors, cut one off, put hydrogen peroxide and then iodine on it and it healed nicely in a couple of days. No pain. It was in the back of my neck and just wasn't what I wanted there. My mother used to tie them off with dental floss until they fell off.

OH my goodness, syb!! What a brave woman you are!! I have those ugly things too, but I would NEVER think to do something like that!! They are the color of my skin and my hair covers them.

Come to think of it, I had this strange growth, about the size of a pea, pop up on my arm a couple of months ago.

It really scared me. I watched it and it went away after about a month or two.

I imagine hormonal changes can do a WHOLE lot to your body.

I remember being pregnant with my second child. Had a small tumor on my gums. Dr. called it a pregnancy tumor, said it would go away after the baby was born and sure enough, it did.

Some brave women in here--that's for sure. ohmy.gif

I had skin tags on my neck a couple of years ago. I thought they were caused by the chain my cross hangs on. Anyway, I put a small dab of my Mom's Dr. Scholls corn remover on them every day for a couple of weeks and they dropped off. I've also read in the People's Pharmacy column in the newspaper of people tying a thread around them and having them drop off. Doctors can remove them for a price.

There are lots of things that can grow on your skin as you get older. I recently had a seborrheic keratosis patch removed from my back. It was kind of nasty looking (I thought it was a cancerous mole !) but it's actually harmless. I'm sure there will be more to come. :-/ I have also had skin tags and some round flat colorless bumps, I forget what these are called but they too are harmless. The tags and bumps seem to come and go ... the ones that persist I have a plastic surgeon remove. He just shaves them off. My face has enough flaws, I don't need to add lumps and bumps to the mix. :-)
