I don't know if this has anything to do with perimenopause. I just thought I'd ask. I have gained weight in the past couple of years. I won't say how much. Too much, though. For my height. And I have and ankle problem, which the Dr. told me that losing some weight, would help. It is so hard! I can't be active like I was, because I have a lot of limitations from a car accident in 1975. One of them being my ankle. I was wondering if anyone has any tips. My main problem is at night. I don't know why. I know I need to lose, but, easier said than done! I like fruit, and veg., but when I've read to eat that instead of other things, it is not my cup of tea. I eat them at meals, but I can't get myself to use them as snacks. Has anyone else had these kind of problems?! Any tips? Is this part of "The Change"?
Nan
I'm with you. A year ago, I got a stress fracture in my foot while working out on the treadmill, trying yet again to lose weight. That healed but the pain did not go away. Found out I have arthritis in my foot. That limits me to walking no more than 2 miles/40 minutes per day. I wish I had the answer. I don't. I just decided to start trying to eat better. I figure I can be fat and healthy. I'm eating low fat, med. protein and high fiber. One fix I found for the night time eating is drinking a Revival Soy shake (the regular, not meal replacement). They are only about 100 calories. I love the banana and chocolate flavors. Somehow the sweetness and richness of those is really satisfying, and the high protein and soy is good for many things. I believe this protein snack helps me sleep better. Good luck!
