Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with burning lips. It's strange and started about 3 days ago. The inside rim of my lips are burning and swollen, but not dry or chapped. They just feel sort of raw but with no cracks or splitting, etc. I thought I had burnt them in the sun in the pool, but the outside are fine, It's just the inside.
Oh well, I'm just trying to ignore it, but wondered if anyone else has ever had this.
Thanks,
Faith

Could you per chance have burned your lip while drinking something hot? Or maybe did you accidentally chew on it when you were nervous? Maybe a paper cut from an envelope? My suggestion is just ignore it, do not keep touching it (like I would!! tongue.gif ) and see if it goes away on its own. I bet it will.

I just saw the dentist this morning, and he said that most people never look in their mouths (he must not have many of us power surge women as patients!!) and that if you have a soar or something out of the ordinary that does not heal after a couple of weeks that you should see your dentist. He actually praised me for being aware of changes in my mouth!!! Little did he know that I had become a "cyberchondriac" over the little bump in my mouth laugh.gif

I am sure it is fine.

I have had the same thing this summer. For no reason I can think of, my lips and inside around my mouth will get very red and slightly swollen. I thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction to my lipstick, but I changed it several times and redness always comes back. I also changed the toothpaste I was using and it has improved slightly. Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide has helped too. Probably another strange peri thing. Connie

It's funny, I ended up googling burning lips and it came up. Guess what was listed as one of the things that could cause it. MENOPAUSE! laugh.gif So, I guess it might just be another wierd symptom. What next! I can deal with though, it's nothing compared to other symptoms.
