We all get so busy taking care of others that we forget to do something nice for ourselves each day. I think each of us should give ourselves permission to do something for us and only us each day. Would love to hear your thoughts.
I think I will:
--Not do the laundry today
--Not work much today even though I am going on vacation starting Friday.
--Not cook dinner this evening--leftovers will be just fine
--give myself a manicure
Okay...do something nice for yourself too!!

I had about four inches cut off my hair and it feels much better... also my grandbaby called and we danced to "Everybody wants to be a cat", and he was so excited... then I gave him a bottle and he had quite a long talk.

What a great question. I just exercised late at night in the dark when I couldn't sleep and it was kind of neat. I was quiet about it with the radio on very low and just took my time. I felt very fit and peaceful afterwards as I type this.

I've decided, now that I'm feeling a bit more human again.....despite remaining annoying symptoms.....that I shall re-invent myself! Lose the stone of weight I put on, eat better, give up red wine for a while. Wish me luck I need the will-power.

We're having beautiful weather here in Montana lately. Not too cold and not too hot. So I took a good walk and breathed in some of that clean, fresh air. Then I made some guacamole and tortilla chips for lunch. Yummy!!

I'm wishing you good luck! I've tried the very same thing and you will find that if you can stick to it for just 10 days, you will see the difference, and that will give you the will power to keep going!! I did miss my red wine though!

Nothing too much yet either..
But I did buy two nice chairs for outside, I love sitting out there. I live on a lake, and that has been such a blessing for me. Love just getting a book and sitting on the back porch and reading a little. But I will light some candles, put some relaxing music on (even though that drives my 10 year old crazy), might even go for a swim... I love water, it does wonders for my soul.
I thank God I found this site....
Does anyone ever hear from Dearest anymore? Just curious...

I went to crate & barrel and got two beautiful plum throw pillows for the fall. I'm just not telling my husband they were $50.00 each. If he finds out that they were
that much first he'll have this look

and then he'll have this look
I think I deserved a splurge.

Ah, today was a nice day! While I did a couple of things around the house early, my husband did a few things outside which needed to be done before he leaves town again tomorrow. Then, for the first time in several years, we each got a cold beer, and went out and got in our big floating chairs and floated around the pool for over an hour. It was just the two of us with the water fall going and birds chirping and no screaming kids! It really was heavenly even if it was for only an hour or so. Water was 85, air temp about the same and peaceful. Doesn't get any better than this!

These suggestions are great. I am really taking it easy on myself these days. I show up for work but honestly, I do the bare minimum I can get by with - today is no exception. I'm feeling tearful and emotionally unsteady today.
I've been doing a lot of isolating under a blanket with movies and favorite treats. Probably not the healthiest approach but it's all I can manage for now. Also a lot of hugging my dog since she is getting old.
Started HRT six days ago and waiting for relief!

I had a lie-in, read some Terry Pratchett with a cup of tea, in the afternoon my brother, sisterinlaw and my little niece and their crazy dog came over and brought muffins! Then I had a jam session with my hubs and daughter... even though it hurts like hell
