Hi I am new to the board. I was thinking that I had the beginnings of Perimenopause because of all the weird symptoms i have been having since April or May of this year. It just came out of the blue one day. I will be 43 in August (so I don't think that is too young to be in premenopause) Some of symptoms include gastric bloating, lightheadedness or dizziness, anxiety, feeling like spots of my body are wet when they are not, shortness of breath, visual problems like paying more attention to floaters thinking I am going blind because I have blurrier vision, ear fullness, etc. I did a FSH urine test at home and was surprised when it came back negative. I had been trying to get my doctor to listen to me about my symptoms but I am starting to sound like a hyperchrondriac to him. I went to the ER back in June because I had a panic attack so they tell me and had bloodwork done. My thyroid is fine and everything else is as well except for high cholesterol level (242) and high triglycerides (168) Doctor saw me after the bloodwork and prescribed Zocor for me. After reading some of the message boards on statins I decided not to take it. I wish I could change doctors but I have an HMO and am sort of limited to who will take new patients in my area.
My main question is could I be in perimenopause even though the test I did myself says no? I want to say that I love this board and hope to be around for a long time! Thanks
Sherri
