I had some sort of weird nervous "rush" feeling this morning with a slight headache, followed by a hot flash. I felt shaky for about 20 minutes after that, then I was fine...would this be considered an aura before a hot flash? I just didn't feel "right" about five minutes before the flash.

PS: While this was going on, I also had to keep going to the bathroom frequently.

Hi Tina,
sometimes I just feel hot , other times it's a wave of heat that washes over me & sometimes I get really uneasy & feel strange before a hot flash hits-kind of edgy & tingly then like a rush (adrenaline?) & then the hot flash....lovely.
See my earlier post 'feel hot & strange'.
Hope this helps!

Tina...that sounds like an aura....i get those alot before a hot flash....actually,when i first started having hot flashes that "rush" feeling would cause me to have a panic attack.....i wish i would have had enough sense at the time to question it on here like you did,i could have saved myself lots of anxiety over it.

I also had adrenaline rushes with my hot flashes and like you moonlight I also continued on into a panic attack from them. When I realized what was going on I found that if I fanned myself(quite vigourously) or quickly focused my attention away from the feeling (which was hard at first) that I could avoid the panic. It is awful really because of course every time you feel that rush you are afraid of the panic attack - just one big viscious circle. It has gotten better for me with just the odd hot flash now but sometimes my head still wants to go to "yeah, but what if"((((( SIGH.........))))) Arla.

Yes Tina, I have those as well. They often wake my from a dead sleep right before a hot flash...very restless and weird feeling that is just hard to describe. Mine seem to be a tight feeling in my stomach muscles and back...it's awfully scary but I've just come to the realization that it's going to be one of my "flashes" and I need to ride with it and not fight it. I used to have a little panic attack when those would happen, but now I just roll my eyes and think it's not very convenient for them to happen in the middle of the NIGHT! What's a gal to do?
This too shall pass.

I always know when a flash is coming because I get the aura too. It is like a rush of adrenaline. This used to send me into an all out panic attack but now I just tell myself that it is a hot flash and it will pass. It took a long time before I could actually accomplish this but when I go with the feeling - I don't panic. As my wonderful Dad used to say - This too shall pass....

Hi,
Can you describe your weird headache?
The one I get is mostly the forehead and around the eyes en temples.
