I am going to start cutting my Vivelle Patch in 1/2 and was thinking of starting Remifeminen, but was not sure if you can take it while also on Estrogen.  I also take Total EFA's, so hopefully that will also help with the night sweats, if I get them when I cut down.  I am eating some soy nuts every day---but wanted to know about the black cohosh in use while still on Estrogen.  I will try anything to not get the night sweats back!!

Hi,Delilah here,I have been away from power surge for awhile ..but am back seeking some comfort ,answers ,and read with open heart and ears the wisdom of all you ladies!! To Adrienne , I also want to wean myself from my HRT(premarin)and welcome any suggestions . I have not taken it everyday for the past week,every other,and started the soy protien(from my local store)a shack every morning,plus I went back to my b-complex vit. and continue with my regular dosage of vit.e,one-a-day with minerals and I take an ester-c also. I purchased an over the counter menopause formula which I just started taking 2 days ago(natrol complete balance). I did check out the transcrips from the program with Aaron Tabor M.D. which he recommended talking to your dr. before going off the hrt..which I will do ..do you think I will be alright with cutting back and taking my vits.etc till I get to him..anyone?Really missed reading the boards..hey, I did give up the smokes since I was here last...6 months now!!  Look forward to sharing with you ladies and thank you all in advance!!

adrienne, I don't think anyone's sure about using any of the estrogenic herbs like black cohosh, dong quai, red clover while still using HRT, I would certainly consult with my healthcare provider before doing anything. If it were me, I wouldn't start using black cohosh or dong quai while I was still on hormone therapy. Power Surge has never recommended using estrogenic herbs together with HRT.
