Hi, I am new here and have read some of your posts and replies and find this board to be very friendly. I have been having problems for about 8 months now. Started with hot flashes, went to the Doctor, was put on lose dose of Prempro, had bleeding almost constant, so the doctor put me on higher dose, still had the bleeding, had to have endo. biopsey, results were okay, so am still on the Prempro. I am constantly nervous, anxiety and tired all the time. The only thing I have noticed that I don't have anymore is the hot flashes, night sweats other than that I am miserable. I use to manage a Health /club and am a /certified personal trainer, but now feel like I am losing my mind. My doctor doesn't want me to go off the Prempro because of the benefits I don't know what to do???? I am desperate for any advise. Thanks for listening.

Hi,
Prempro made me a nervous wreck and only was on it one day!!
I think you might consider the natural compounded hormones. But you would have to find a doctor who is knowledgable unless you just bought some over the counter progesterone cream from a health food store.
I tried Progesta-Care first when I first started having symptoms two years ago and it helped my flashes and anxiety.

Patti, click over to the
Recommendations Page to point you in the direction of getting the help you need. You have many choices and in 2002, Prempro is hardly considered one of the better ones. The Premarin in it is made from horse pee and the Provera in it is a synethtic progestin that gives most women all sorts of adverse side effects.
Take a look at the article, Your Hormones. You'll get some good information and helpful links. There are numerous other articles all over the Web site. This message board is just one very small part of an enormous and very informative award-winning Web site.

Hi, my name is JeanI tried taking Premphase and that did not help me in the least bit. And with the recent HRT scare due to anything made with horse urine, etc. I am glad I didnt continue. What is helping me and I did ask my physician if it is OK to stay on is FemHRT. It has releaved all of my symptoms. I also started taking a low dose of Paxiland that has helped with Anxiety issues. I also takeToprol XL to deal with the Palpitations I was having but all is Better now. Hopefully maybe some of these Meds may help you but be sure to discuss with your physician.

Jean, I am taking FemHrt also. At first I had a lot of bleeding and bloating but it has settled down now.Did your doctor say how long it would be OK to stay on FemHrt? I am wondering if mine will take me off it the next time I see him since I have been on hormones now for about 8 years.Annie

Hi Annie,
I have the darndest time getting around in here but do I take the time to read directions/heck no.Well...before the scare of HRT I had asked my Dr as to how long I should stay on it and she said until I was Old/very Old and I said why and she said becauses it makes me feel better. So for now I plan on keeping on with it. I did not have any symptoms with this drug. But I wish someone would respond as to if anyone has ever experience creepy-crawly feelings in the face and what they did to make it go away.I know I have quit eating Chocolate because I had such an awful craving for it and some of that feeling has gone away, so maybe it was the sugar and caffeine. Good Luck and We Will Survive! Jean

Jean,No it is not always easy to get around in forums or to find something on the Internet that you saw once and want to see again! The doctor implied before the scare that I should be on the hormones "forever" too. I know FemHrt is a lower dose but it is still estrogen and progesterone so I still wonder if "by any other dose or name it doesn't still smell the same"!I used to have creepy-crawly feelings in my skin, especially in my arms, when I was in peri-menopause. I never knew why. I still have them a little bit sometimes but not very bad.My worst symptom now on the FemHrt is an aching in my pelvic region that extends way down into my lower legs. And I often wake up in the mornings with leg cramps. He had put me on 1500 Mg. of calcium per day for osteopenia at the same time. I talked to the doctor's office about it. Their advice was to eat a banana a day (in case my potassium was low) and to eat a lot of fiber as the calcium seemed to make me more constipated than usual. It is good that you don't have side effects from the FemHrt.I wish you the best.Annie
Hi Annie,
I am sorry that the FemHRT is causing discomfort/there is another brand also but I would have to contact a Friend in MT and ask her what it is as I forgot. When I was experiencing achiness in my leg muscles which I thought was due to my Lyme disease and (it very well couldve been) I was put on CELEBREX and that took it away completely. But since I have been of FemHRT I havent needed to take the CELEBREX.Have a good wknd/I am heading up to Northern Wisconsin for the wknd. Take Care! Jean
