hi girls,

This morning when I first woke up, i was laying on my back, and I was fine. I got up to go to the bathroom, came back into my bedroom, and was to tired, so I went back to bed. Well, I love laying on my stomach, so, that's what I did. Now, when you lay on your stomach, you have to have your head turned to one side or the other, obviously, or your face would be straight down into the bed, so, I folded my arms to act like a pillow, and laid my head down on them, turned to the right....like a million times before!
But, within a minute or two, I started to get this weird, "pain"/deep ache in the muscle on the back of my neck, where the hair line begins...RIGHT SIDE. I didn't thik much about it, so I turned my head the other way, facing left, thinking it was probably some other stupid symptom, and that it'll go away. Well, guess again. As I lay there, with my head now facing the left, I could feel that that weird "pain" in the neck (lol) that was on the right side of my neck, had now gone up to the back of my head on the right, same side. But it was beginning to kind of hurt, not BADLY, not stabbing sharp pain, just a deep pain. So, I sat up on the edge of the bed, and just waited for it to maybe subside. I sat there for a minute or two, and I had to message the back of my head (right) because it was kind of hurting, and it was still aching and painfull down by the hairline, and down that side of the neck. It then, spread down around under my chin (right) likewhere your glands are if you get swollen glands......then, down my right breast (fairly slowly) and down the right side of my back, where my right lung is. Now, this wasn't bad "pain", but it was definatley solid discomfort, and it made me feel weird and nauseas...and a little shakey. So, by this time i got scared, I got up off the bed, and started pacing. I guess in about 10 minutes of so, it was subsiding. OH, I should also mention, as this "pain"/ache spread, I also got this warmth feeling along with it. OK, so, after about 10 minuts of pacing, I decided to lie back down, because by now, I was shakey and nauseas and felt SICK! (it almost makes you feel as though something is "wrong" insdie). I laid there, on my left side, propped up with pillows, and fell asleep...and by that time, the actual "episode" was over. When I finally woke up hours later, I still felt "sickly", you know, shakey, a little nauseas, and now the LEFT side of the top of my head felt very sinusy! Well, I'm used to that one, so I got up, had two cups of decaf coffee, and some cereral, and took Benedryl for that, and that helped.

OK, now, it's been all day, and that feeling in the back of my head and neck (right) has been pretty much gone. But, as I was sitting in the parking lot of the supermarket, about an hour ago, I started to notice that it almost seemed to start up again, but very slightly, ..... again, on the right side of the neck where the hair line is, and a little up on to the head back there, right side.
It hasn't gone anywhere though, it's still ok, just like a weird pressure feeling, but not bad.

So, after all that nonsense..........what do you guys think, what the heck was that?! I tend to think it was muscular, but I would love some other opinions on this! I'm going to post this on the headache forum as well .....

thanks guys! Sincerely, MyDarling
Gia*
Maybe you have pinched nerve or slipped disk in your neck. Both ailments can produce weird sensations and pains. I have a slipped disk in my neck and when it acts up I get shooting pains down my LEFT arm. My pains are always on the left side. I always think the worst because the pain is on the left side. Have you seen your doctor or a chiropractor?

HI Gia ,

thank you for your reply. No, i havent' seen my dr. yet, since this just happ. this morning...and like i said, it only really lasted about 10 minutes, it wasn't severe pain either, but just sort of a deep pain/ache ... and of course, i went into this panic attack over this!..lol .. but, i haven't felt good all day after that either. Felt a little "sickly", but after I had taken the Benedryl, and laid back down on the couch and slept, I did feel better. I just feel kind of crummy right now, but not anything bad. The only thing that's lasted throughout the day, is this crummy sinusy feeling in my head, but Benedryl deals with that. My husband had suggested it sounded like a muscle in my neck, which of course, goes up your head in the back, and down the back as well. I guess I could have turned it the wrong way without realizing it.

thank you gia!

i think gia is probably right.. see a chiro if it continues.. also, do you always lie on your stomach? it's one of the worst ways to lie down. it's not good for your back or neck at all.
sacoya
sounds like maybe its a muscle spasm.
