Got a (temprary) diagnoses of GERD 2 days ago. To make a long story short, I had an ECG and all showed clear so the *heart attack* pain was narowed down to GERD. I was given NEXIUM which has really got my chest pains down to a minimum. Problem is my stomach. I will go for a stomach scope after my vacation ( I fly on Monday for 4 weeks) to see if my ulcers are back. I'd bet a million to one that it is. I have my period right now and the burning just won't go away. If I drink anymore milk I will start to Mooo.
To all of you with GERD and on Nexium or similar, did you get relief from the stomach as well?
My blood work showed a bacterial infection somewhere, it seems pretty clear I may have H. Pylori or Gastritis. I am on Amoxicillian 3x a day for a week (4th day).
Does your GERD stay with you all month or does it seem to prefer the 2nd half of your cycle?
Thanks for any input. I'm going nuts :-(

MOoooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
(that's me drinking more and more milk as the days go by....)

You know, you bring up an interesting observation......I just stopped my period a few days ago and my GERD symtpoms seem to be worse. (I have a thread on this forum about the horrible lump I have in my throat......so I need to get some testing done from my perspective). I'm suffering with it today again....it's constant.

I take Zantac 300mg. at bedtime but I do wish I had some Nexium. I think the Nexium should heal up erosion very well.

In my case......this problem started badly during the second half of my cycle. Hope that answers your question and I hope you feel better soon. I hope we both do. This does s*ck and is so uncomfortable.

Mooing back to the pasture...

Sounds like we'd make a good commercial right about now LOL!
2nd half of the cycle huh? Maybe we are on to something. I don't have the throat thing at all. I'm sure I should be glad about that. This feels more ulcer to me but the nexium did take away my *heart attacks*. There is no doubr in my mind that I do have an ulcer again as well.
I will definately post back to you in a few weeks and let you know if it lets up after my period and comes again after my ovulation. I do think we are entitled to a break from this, even if it is just for a few days a month!
Now grab that guitar and go muster up a catchy riff for that ad of ours!
Feel better soon!
