Full Version: Have any of you tried these for anxiety?

And what were your experiences? I find I trundle along fine for a few months then some stress comes along and I just go to pieces, can't sleep, pounding heart, feeling out of control. I've just bought these hoping they may help so please let me know if you have any experiences of these.

I have used 5-htp on 3 different occasions and i think its great. i was asked by my couselor to try it for my irrational thinking patterns and amxiety so i got some and it worked like a miracle for me. the scary, irrational thoughts started to go away i think within the firast few days. i took 50mg 1 time a day in the morning and i think i took it for about 2-3 months then i just stopped taking it because i was feeling so much better. then recently i found myself back in that cycle and scared and anxious again so i took them again and it worked again, within 3 days my fatigue was completely gone and i was thinking clearly and feeling great but then i had a panic attack for some reason and i blamed it on the 5 htp ( stupid of me) and quit taking it for about a week and then started it up again but it seemed like wasnt working as fast for some reason , but after about 2-3 weeks i was starting to feel really good again. I then got hit with a tooth infection (3 weeks ago) and i quit taking them again because i was afraid to take them with my antibiotic and i just recently started taking them again. its been about 1 week and im assuming its going to take about a month this time to see a big difference. but im sure i will eventually. 5-htp is supposed to work just as good as AD's without the side effects and i truly believe it does. ive never had a side effect from it. you can also take it with ST.JOHNS WORT and get even better results. safely.
I have not tried red clover by itself but im sure there was something herbal ive taken in the past that had it in it.

I take 5HTP (along with magnesium) to help me sleep and L-theanine for anxiety both morning and evening. Both seem to work well. The red clover is in a shakely supplement for menopausal support that I take, but it's mixed in with other things so I can't report on that.

Riv, WHAT KIND OF MAGNESIUM AND HOW OFTEN? AND THE SAME FOR THE L-THEANINE. I HAVE A MAGNESIUM POWDER AND CHEWABLE L-THEANINE TABLETS BUT IM NOT SURE HOW MUCH TO TAKE AND CAN I TAKE THEM TOGETHER? AND HOW MUCH 5-HTP DO YOU TAKE? DO YOU TAKE IT ONLY AT NIGHT? I TAKE MINE IN THE MORNING BECAUSE I TAKE AMBIEN FOR SLEEP. HAVE YOU NOTICED YOU FEEL A BETTER SENSE OF WELL-BEING FROM THE 5-HTP?

I started taking 5-HTP 50mg at night and it has helped me sleep thru the night. No side affects that I have noticed.
