hi gals,

well, that ridiculous swollen gland thing finally went away, I do have a little soreness still, but not much at all .... the only problem is, the gums on the top right, and center are kind of "sore", not like a toothache or abssess, just "sore", annoying, almost "stinging", it's weird. I don't know anymre, I seem to go from one symptom to another! I called my dentist, and he refilled a penicillan RX for me over the phone, and told me to take that for the 10 days, and we'll see. He naturally thinks it's some kind of infection, and it could be, but, I have to wonder if this isn't somehow hormonal as well! I mean, EVERYTHING ELSE IS!!!!! I bet hormones definatley contribute to this, because this started right before my period. WEll, it began with the swollen gland thingy, which lasted a few days, and then pretty much left the day my period began. BUT THEN, a day or two later, presto....now the gums are bothering me! GEEZ! WHAT NEXT? I'm waiting for my head to fall off for pete sake!

ok, point is, has anyone had sore gums with peri? does anyone know if that's a peri symptom? i asked the dentist, and as you can guess, just like the dr. , he doesn't think so, but what does he even know about peri? NOT MUCH! I'm going to do some research anyway, on my own, but if anyone here hs had this, please post!

thanks girls.....MyDarling

hi my darling,

looks like we're on the same planet. over the last couple of months i've noticed gum tenderness at times (thought it might be related to my sinus problems), dry mouth (thought it might be related to meds), & then suddenly the other day, my gums started bleeding & got puffy & red. i had pretty much the same reaction to this additional state of affairs as you did.

from what i've read, it could be a perimenopausal symptom. but also we are more prone at this point to being susceptible to gum/dental problems because of our precarious state. keep up good dental practices.

best,
ellen

Funny that just last week I was talking to my Physical Therpaist about my *nasal* voice and she told me that the gums can also be afected by hormones, that they too will store water.

Hi! I went to the dentist because I was having all these things to hit me at one time. I had a terrible gums. It comes with the territory. I massage them and use warm salt water periodical. I changed toothpaste that support gums and well as your teeth. Mouthwashes the same too.

I have had this situation on and off this year. It gets better as time goes on ..

Hi,

I'm menopausal and it seems my gums are receeding. I'm in pretty good health otherwise. Is this normal and is there any treatment or natural ways to deal with this. Have been good about flossing, getting regular cleanings, etc.

Thanks all,

Ethan's Nana
