It seems that there are so many symptoms of perimenopause. I'm wondering about breast nipples. I've noticed lately that my right nipples is more sensitive than my left one. When it is erect, it is longer than the left. Maybe it has always been like that and I just never noticed, but I wanted to ask. I've had a recent mammogram which was fine. I guess I'm just wondering if breast nipples act exactly the same or if they can differ from each other and if this is a symptom of raging hormones. I have noticed that over the last 6 months my breasts become quite sore for about 10 days each month.

Tamodeez,
I know that sensitivity levels can and do vary from breast to breast. My right breast is more sensitive and my aerola area is different from breast to breast. I have talked with a specialist about it and she said that your breast aren't always symmetrical and that it's pretty common. I questioned the differences between my breast in detail with the specialist and she saw nothing of concern. The differences are slight variations in coloring in different areas of the aerola and my right breast shows more veins and such. While I think that its common for these differences to exist (especially if they again are slight) it is always a good idea to share your concerns with a doc. In all of my research and conversations with my docs I've never heard that an enlarged nipple was a sign of any concern..but then again I'm not a doc.
Hope this helps...God bless,
