I still can't figure out the mystery as to why I have such a nasal voice (went away for 3 days this month and is back again). My nose feels like it is empty, real dry but I am always clearing my throat. I don't feel a drip at all and would say I don't have one. I drink tons of water and Tea but don't seem to be able to hydrate myself.
I even went so far as to call my GP today, but of course, practice is closed today for whatever reason.
Ladies, I am going nuts with this. I am about 2 weeks away from my period and have never had it this long, this far off from menstruation, my breast are already heavy and sore as well.
I don't feel like I am breathing right either.
I read about raspy voices with hormones but not nasal ones.
I don't even know if I have a question in all this, I am just soooo frustrated!

BTW, I do have acid in my throat today and read that GERD can change the voice. Any tips/clues?

hi girls mom,

it seems to me that since estrogen levels can impact the degree of inflammation in those areas as well as affect the mucus discharge, that they could impact something like "nasal voice." search on the net for hormones & rhinitis & sinusitis if you want more information. the university of michigan sinus center site has a decent faq that most likely addresses the role of gerd in sinus problems.

good luck,
ellen

Hi i wish i had a answer to you question but i don't. I have sinus problems now alot if it isn;t dry nasal i have clogged ears or congestion. Drives me crazy too. Lots of luck i'm hoping its just hormones. lizardlover

Yes, clogged nasal passages is my problem too and it can make me feel panicky and can't breathe.

I am embarrassed to say that this also causes probs with sex with my husband. I feel I can't breathe if he is above me..as if he's sucking all the air out of my space. I have to think of other things than "England" sometimes laugh.gif ... a nice beach with waves lapping on the shore, or I feel I want to push him away and stick my head out of the window blink.gif My poor husband!!!

I had a great thorough exam with my Homeopat (who is also a M.D.) and he said my mucous membranes were dry and that could easily affect the sound of my voice. There are no polyps and everything else seemed o.k.
So glad I got an answer. Thanks Ladies!
Hey Alice...sounds like it's time for a change of position ;0)
