Forgot to change my patch one day, but did remember finally and changed it one day late.  Now I'm having spotting/bleeding, backache, bloating, and cramps.  Does this happen from forgetting just one time?  I've been on this for more than a year.   Is this a normal result?  I'm also taking prometrium every day so I don't have periods at all.  I feel awful and hope it stops soon.

Hi, Sandy!  I have absolutely no experience with Vivelle, but when I was taking HRT years ago, before I learned about Revival here, if I would miss a day of the Estrace, the same thing would happen.  I'd start a what appeared to be period.

Needless to say, I never missed another day of the Estrace (the estrogen part) again!

Unfortunately, yes it was.  And, I never missed a pill again!

An Update.....

The bleeding/spotting lasted approximately two weeks which seems like a long time for missing one day of changing the patch.  But I have not had any bleeding or spotting since that two week period.  My doctor has scheduled me for an ultrasound to check on the lining thickness and view the ovaries, which I agree is the right thing to do at this point.  And thank goodness the cramping and backache have ceased.....Makes me wonder what it will be like when I wean off the HRT treatment.
