Hi Ladies

I have been going through so much lately. All kinds of test for different things. The last one being yesterday which is a stress test. I have recently have had very high BP.

My question is that Ihave been having very bad morning and all day sweats. I seem to sweat more that i am now in post meno. Does this happen to anyone else? This morning I work up sweating and headache. I went for a walk and the sweat poured off of me. Here is is one hour later and still sweating.

I thought this becomes better. Thank you for your replies ahead of time. I am nervous about it. I am nervous about everything these days.

Tlily, Hi! I have read your posts and it seems that you were put on some new meds for the BP? If so, do they happen to be calcium channel blockers? The reason I ask this is that I was put on a couple of calcium channel blockers years ago and I had TERRIBLE sweats and flushes, morning, noon and night. An example of CCB is Procardia. The headache may be due to meds too.

Good luck!

Dear Tlily, just to let you know that I barely had any problems with sweating before my last menstrual period. It was when that happened that my body went into revolt. The night sweating was then intense and is still pretty bad two and a half years on! I still have not found the solution to help me but I am still searching. Visit PS, I have found that it has kept me sane.

have you had a thyroid function test? it was one thing the doctor did for me when i complained of way too much sweating, and being hot for longer than just a flush.. mine was negative for any issues however, so we figure it's just hormonal, as i am taking no medications at all. mind you, i am not quite post meno yet, i still haven't been able to count that 12 months without, only 8 months twice so far! lol.. but i do sweat a lot more than i used to, i am hot for hours at a time sometimes.. in the summer months here, i really wondered, as any effort at all would have me wet all over. i really hope this symptom will go away, or at least lessen, soon. i've been like this for the past few years now, and i really don't like it.

I'm four years post, but I've noticed that in the warm months I still get some pretty intense hot flashes. I know everyone loves summer except me; I prefer the fall and winter, partly because my hot flashes won't be as bad.

TLily, I found that almost all of my meno symptoms have improved except the flashes. Nothing ever helped with that, in peri or now, in post. Maybe they did improve, since I don't get nausea with them anymore, thank goodness. I used to have a wave of sickness that was so bad I had to sit down. Now it's just the familiar feelings of warmth. I thought they would go away, but maybe not.

Hi,

Just a thought about the water pill for HBP. My husband takes one every day and he says they make him sweat because it's a diuretic. I took a half one once because I was so bloated and they made me sweat like crazy. You might google your med and see what side effects they have--or call the pharmacist and see if sweating could be a side effect.

Just my two cents--

Hi tlily,

I totally understand how you feel and I am so glad that I am not alone. I am post (4 years) and the day and night sweats are horrible! When I was peri I hardly had any symptoms but now I have the nausea, dizziness, lighthead, anxiety, tired....shall I go on laugh.gif . I thought all that was suppose to fly away with your period. Silly me. I am not taking anything...scared to. But I am miserable. I guess we will get through this, I jut hope its soon.
