Yesterday and today I feel like I have to go to the bathroom more than usual and my mouth seems kind of dry today. Has anyone else had this happen? I usually go every 4 of 5 hours, but today I feel like I need to go again after only a couple of hours. I have had quite a few hot flashes the last couple of days, too. By the way, I drink lots of decaf every day, and I've done that for a long time. I'm rarely thirsty, I just drink it out of habit and because I like the taste and it has almost no calories. I also chew sugar-free gum every day after each meal. I had a scare the other day when I accidentally swallowed gum and felt like it caught in my throat and I felt like I wouldn't be able to breathe or swallow. I had instant panic over that one and actually had to take a half Xanax to calm myself down. Sounds silly, huh! I haven't chewed much gum since, so could that maybe be why my mouth feels quite dry? Please let me know if any of you have had any of these concerns. Thanks, DebM.
how much water do you drink? straight clear pure water? you really need it. somewhere in the region of 2 litres a day according to some sources.. 6-8 glasses. coffee is dehydrating.
meant to add as well, coffee is a diuretic, which is why it dehydrates the human body.

Hi,
I just wanted to mention that there are a few mouthwashes for dry mouth and a toothpaste as well. I noticed that I get dry mouth too and I've been using the toothpaste , it seems to help. hope this helps!

Hi Yogapause and Zen,
Thanks for all the input! I really don't drink very much pure water, and I know better. I'm done with school for the summer, so I'll be spending lots of time outside and I'll need the water, I'm sure. I am surprised that decaf is a diuretic-I thought it was the caffiene -you learn something new everyday! Anyway, thanks again for your help and have a great day! DebM.
