Hi,
When I was at the pharmacy - I noticed something new for vaginal moisturizer. It's from KY Brand, and it's called Liquibeads. It's a little oval "bead" and you insert it thru a little plunger. It's suppose to keep moisture and lubricated for about 3-4 days. So I tried it one time thus far - not bad, not bad at all.

If anyone has tried it - please let me know your thoughts and have you tried it for awhile. Thanks

Hi there,

Glad to hear you found something. They don't sell the KY "beads" where I live but I just got some KY stuff that is also a moisturizer, not in bead form but just some mush that also is applied via a plunger. It says it lasts for up to 3 days and I'm trying it tonight. I've been having a REALLY HARD time of the whole dryness thing and am ready to scream, quite literally, in pain and frustration. I wish you well and will give it a go myself tonight, for the first time.

I was hesitant to use KY because the usual KY gel is never the right consistency for intercourse, for me, so I figured this is just more of that stuff. However when I touched the moisturizer it felt lighter and more fluid, which would be nice.

I hope it works for me. I'm at the end of my perimenopausal rope!

Good luck!

Just wanted to add girls that I found something called Calendula ointment by Hylands you can google it or look in your health food store.
I have suffered from this for way to long and it really made a huge difference, it is 50 times stronger than Vit E capsules which also work.
I also use the KY jelly before a joyful time or when it feels kind of warm down there and it works great to, thanks for the tip on the new item.
Also replens works very well, but I have found that putting the calendula ointment about everyother day or everday when needed has saved my life.
Take care,
God bless you

Hey there Sparks - I hope the KY items works for you. And Tinkybug - I'll check out Calendula ointment and see if they have at my local health food store.

I tried Replens - oh, can you believe - I felt it moisturized to much sad.gif . I'm reminded of a child story about three bears, the food to hotl, the food to cold and the third food as just right laugh.gif - the same with moisturizer of drying vaginal area - one was to wet, one wasn't wet enough ...and the third was juuuust right laugh.gif

Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I appreciate it.

Hi All:
I will try the beads ...I am so sad and sooo uncomfortable. I just don't think I my getting my doctors (gyno or internest) to really hear me. I don't have sex with my husband almost at all. And he doesn't ask because he always can see how uncomfortable (sometimes downright agony) I feel. How long can I expect him to be so kind and loving and patient? I can't believe this is where I am...

Any other suggestions for something that will make the burning sensation quit...please chime in.

I never saw the beads where I live, I'll have to look harder. I did try the KY moisturizer with the applicator a few times but it gets expensive if you're going to use it every two days. It seemed to make my urethra more sensitive, as if it were going inside my urethra?? I also tried KY lubricant mixed with vitamin E (did it myself. lol) but I don't think I used either of these things long enough to see any difference. The Vitamin E made the lubricant sticky and white. I don't know if that's good or bad. lol Right now I'm using the Premarin cream, not happy about that but desperate, but yesterday I had to call my doctor because after nine days of using it I feel worse. More pressure, swollen feeling between the legs, burning. Now he's saying I'm getting too much estrogen!! So I have to try it twice a week. He's the one who insisted on the everyday use in the first place! I just might not go back to it at all and maybe I'll go back to trying the KY stuff on a more regular basis. I'm definitely going to try to find the calendula ointment!
As far as the husband goes, I think he gave up on the idea of ever having sex again! Sad. I'm 54 and feel like I'm 90 and all dried up! I don't get how there's always shows and books on how sex doesn't stop just because you're older! I had less pain giving birth!!

Oh Mikki and Steviechaser-
Don't give up meno. sister!! If your dry in the vaginal area - it will be painful, uncomfortable and saying ouch during sex... use lots and lots of lubrication. I use a brand call Astraglide, it is similar to KY gel. Lubricate your partner with it and yourself. And if you haven't had sex for awhile - take it slow because it can be painful within - after your vaginal area is lubricated - whoo hoo - I'm reminded of Madonna song 'I'm a virgin, like it's the first time' laugh.gif .. I think I quoted it the wrong way - but you know what I mean biggrin.gif . I use the Liquibead on the days I don't have sex... Or better yet - after sex - I don't need anything for a few days. Best wishes.
