After 2 years on various forms of hrt, pills and patches, i was fed up of feeling sick all the time, so i threw the lot away. I then spent another 2 years trying alternatives eg soya, black cohosh etc..... the hot flashes were becoming unbearable so back to the doctors i went. He has placed me on Kliofem which i believe is for  women over 50yrs old. I am 45yrs old but not had a period for 4 years.Has anyone else had good results with this HRT? One thing that does worry me is the sickness coming back as a nurse once told me that if i was sick for all 9 months of my pregnancy, i would always be sick on HRT, as my body couldnt take the changing hormone levels.....is this correct? I have been on Kliofem for 2 weeks and previous experience says that it will be about 6 weeks into the treatment when the sickness starts. I feel caught between the "devil and the deep blue sea"  Any advice would be gratefully accepted. Anne

Maybe you are just on too high of a dose. Have you tried a minimal dosage and maybe cutting that in half? I doubt it would ever be harmful to reduce a dosage, and you can always go back up.

I would think replacing the lost hormones in meno with a similar amount would not result in the sickness you speak of (or only early on, in the adjustment period). But I guess anything is possible; we are all unique and have different responses. I'm sure some women cannot tolerate HRT.

Thanks for your reply. It is certainly worth thinking of reducing the dosage if the sickness comes back as i dont want to completly come off HRT as i have bone decease in my immediate family. Anne

Hi asilverlady,Have you tried the natural horomnes? You may have better luck if you haven't already tried them. There's a whole topic on the natural ones as well as other information in the as" the experts" with Pete the power-surge pharmacist. He is also available to call for questions and could be of help to you.
