HI Again Ladies,

I have come to the place where I am considering having an endometrial ablation so I can stay on estrogen. I'm 58 and stopped my periods about 18 mos. ago. Would it be better to go off BHRT estrogen or have an ablation? I cannot tolerate any form of progesterone. Tried it all, including vaginal at low doses, compounded low dose 12.5 mg, prometrium, commpounded transdermal cream. Caused a paradoxical effect, heart palps, insomnia, depression. It was horrid. I did develop osteopenia and no libido/response in the intimacy area. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this. I think I would like to take estrogen and test. for a few years and probably need it due to bone density problem and hair loss.

Also, has anyone stayed on BHRT more than 5 yrs without any negative consequences?

Thank you so much. I visit this board daily for encouragement, information and support.

Ethan's nana,

May be ask your naturopath if pregnenalone is an option; it is a parent hormone that breaks down in your body to other hormones (estrogen, progesterone, etc.) as needed by your body.

I am taking 50 mg pregnenalone time-release capsule. If you do take pregnenalone, I would stop the estrogen.

Hi Plum,

I talked to my naturalpath today about Pregnalone and he said it was a good idea, along with DHEA Do you take DHEA too? Whet brand do you take? How long have you taken it and do you notice any benefits from it yet? I told him I'm going to go off estrogen but I'd like to stay on testerone. Do you think I could et off test. if taking pregnalone? What supplements do yu take? I have noticed youare qute knowledgeable about these things.

Thank you for replying to my messages. I'm keeping in close touch with my ObGyn and naturalpath I usually run everything by naturalpath ust to see what hethinks. He's really very good. He thinks it's best not to take hormones, esp. estrogen but didn't discourage me from taking testostorone. I'm veen taking 2.5 mg. sublingual through Pete Huessman at Bellevue Pharmacy.

Thanks,
Ethan's Nana
