Hello all. I have posted here before. I knew I had hypothyroid before but my levels are going crazy! Right now they are 14.83. I really feel like I'm losing it!!!!! Menopause & hypo are gonna be the death of me. Is there anyone else out there having problems like this??? I am having blurry vision, tingeling in head, headaches, tingeling in left hand (fingers), VERY tired, muscles ache, head that feels awful like stinging all the time & hot then cold. I started vivelle dot patch 3 1/2 weeks ago. I started out on levothroxine & was switched to aurmor. Aurmor is now messing with the T4. I went back on my own to levothroxine. I am having a hard time in my area finding a good endo Dr. By the way last month my level of TSH was 0.02. I can't understand whats going on. I am also having the off balance, pass out feeling & dizzy. HELP!!!!!

My TSH was as high as yours so my dosage of Levoxyl was upped to the second highest. I started it about 3 weeks ago and there is a definate improvement all the way 'round. I am also on 20 mgs of Prozac. I had been on this combination for many years and then went off for 6/7 months. Then I started getting the peri symptoms. Hot flashes are gone (but they were gone before I started back on the meds), headaches are gone, energy has improved considerably, brain fog is about 50% better, sleeping better at night, better frame of mind.......... Only peri symptom I seem to have is the absence of periods. Dunno what came first: the peri or the hypothyroid??? unsure.gif

I have had hypothroid long before menopause. I am within normal limits now but feel like hell anyway. I have to take AD or all I do is cry all day. This meno is a drag.

Hi there!

So sorry you are having all these horrible problems. if your TSH was 0.02, that would normally indicate that you were getting too much thyroxine and were bordering hyperthyroidism. When I was taking too high a dose, I was also having blurry sensations, dizziness and tingling. Can you get another test done to see if there is a difference now you are on the Vivelle dot patch as well?

scriv,

After those symptoms, it gets worse. PM me if you want to. After it gets worse, it gets better... so I've been told. Don't mean to be a downer, it's just reality.

sorry, drea, I am a bit confused... it's pooh44 who has the problem, not me. I was just responding suggesting she had another test done to see if anything had changed.

Pooh44. Armour thyroid suppresses your TSH and it can remain that way for months. The best way to treat your thyroid is via your Free t3 and free t4. Find a DO for the best treatment.

I am hypothyroid for 5+ years and recently diagnosed with premenopause. I also have fibromyalgia.

I take 4.5 grains of Armour, have the BHRT pellets and use progesterone vaginally from days 10-28.

I feel better than I have in a loooongg time smile.gif
