Has anyone had severe muscle pain that won't go away due to anxiety? It started last summer when I got frozen shoulder. After months of physical therapy and cortisone treatments it seemed to heal but then the pain moved to the other shoulder. I am in almost constant pain between my shoulders, neck, back and sometimes my wrist. I feel arthritic yet tests show nothing's wrong. Saw an orthopedist, chiropractor and now going for massage therapy. Massage therapist says I'm all in knots from stress. I feel better for a couple of days and then it comes back. The only thing that helped me was taking Klonopin, which I ran out of and don't have a script for. So, I have to think it's stress related. I worry about everything lately, I have a list and it just goes from one thing to the next. I can't stop worrying and feeling anxious about everything. Anything now bothers me and I'm tense all the time. What's wrong with me? Has anyone else experience this kind of pain? I'm definitely peri menopause my gyno says because of my hormonal tests.

Cyberlayde, I understand exactly how you feel. Yes, I have pain between my shoulders, in my neck, down my arms just like you do. It is absolutely exacerbated by stress. When you're in knots, you hold your posture a certain way, the nerves get constricted, and all of the above follows. Also, I get stomach problems, nausea and fatigue. I believe they are all related. I'm going through this now too as I've sold my home and we're downsizing to an apartment. Stress can absolutely make you sick. Try not to worry; I know it's difficult, but try to focus on something else.

Yes- I have the shoulder/back/arm/hand/finger pain almost constantly! I think mine is also due to stress, plus terrible posture habits that I have developed over 17 years of working at a computer. I also have "mild arthritis" according to my idiot doctor, and am taking generic Ativan for anxiety and Vivelle Dot patch ERT, but nothing helps this pain. Most of the time it is in my left side, but now it is starting to affect my right side also. It is worse during rainy and damp weather, and some days I feel 91 instead of 51! Hope this helps you and just know that you are not alone with your pains! Hope you feel better soon!

hi cyberlayde,

i also have everything you have! I worry all the time too, and that was never me!!!! this is so strange to me, i feel like i'm actually turning into another person! I bet you do too. yes, stress can do so much, and so can hormones, so if you put them together...POW! I'd say i'm pretty darn tense all the time too, now. But, this aching ,and pain thing is bad, it just adds to the stress, I know!

Sincerely, MyDarling
