Hi,

I suffered from front and back pain for a few weeks that went from my ribs down to my lower stomach. I have been to my accupuncturist and she said it is trapped bacteria in my intestines. After several treatments, the pain is much better but there is still discomfort, especially in my lower right side that moves up to about my belly button. I was told that this is most likely from trapped gas in the valve that connects my small and large intestine.

Of course, I am worried it is ovarian cancer. I do not have any swelling or bloating, but I am still worried. Sound familiar to anyone?

Yup, I can relate to this one. I've had it off and on for years but it's definitely worse since peri started! I think your acupuncturist is right, at least about the trapped gas, I don't know about bacteria. Did she give you any ideas how to get rid of it? I've found getting up and moving around usually gets it moving so it can be released. wink.gif

Hi MSRB75,

I am relieved that someone else has this stomach stuff.

One thing my acupuncturist suggested was after eating to get up and bend your legs at the knee and lift them a few times to waist level. (Helps everything start digesting properly.) And, don't eat too late. She also gave me a special tea to drink which is helping. Acupuncture has really helped me throughout all of this.

If you can find one who specializes in women's issues, I recommend it. Now I go to her with my peri symptoms, as my doctor thinks I'm a crazy neurotic!

Hope this helps.

Of course being the "eternal pessimist" that I am, I am thinking the pain could be related to an "irritated" appendix, especially since you mentioned it traveled to your belly button. One thing you can do to check for this is to stand flat and then bounce on your heels. If there is continued pain, it may be worthwhile to have this physical symptom checked into. A blood test would eliminate that worry. biggrin.gif

I have pain in my right lower abdomen a lot too. I think it's pain from ovulating sometimes. I had a sonagram done years ago as I feared it was my appendix but it wasn't. I stronly suggest you check out this kind of pain by a physican. Better to be safe and a quick sonagram is painless and alleviates the health worries that go through our minds. I conjure all sorts of things up if I have pain and don't get it checked out.

i had this pain also--it was due to ovarian cysts-----non'cancerous,I would have it checked out just to calm the nerves.
