Hello,
I was Just wondering if any of you took prozac while taking HRT? I hear it's supose to be good during menopause. If anyone took it you have bad side affects with it? I have tried paxil, effexor.lexapro & klonopin. Klonopin doesn't seem to be working for me that much any more. I have been on HRT (vivelle dot 0.1 mg) for 3 weeks today. I am having but not more anxiety as I did before I started the patch. My nose tingles, I feel light headed, dizzy & headaches. I had that also before I started the patch.
Seems like everything is bothering me lately.I didn't want to go on any more AD's but I think I'm gonna have to as bad as I hate to. I had AWFUL withdraws from lexapro! That scared me.
I need help in making a big decision!

pooh44,

I was on prozac and bioidentical hormones for 6 months (10mg/day); at first, it seemed to increase my anxiety. Anyway, because my doctor and I were not sure if the prozac or bioidentical hormones were helping, I stopped the prozac to see if I can get by just with the hormones. I have been without the prozac since July 4, 2006 but still on the hormones. I had a really good past three months but now it seems that some of my symptoms have come back.

Have any of you notice an abatement of some of your symptoms and then a recurrence of the same or some different ones?

The head pressure at the base of my skull seems to be back again and it always freaks me out because I feel like I might have a stroke... hear I go with the health anxiety.

Hi

My doctor put me on Effexor. Evil.

In July, 06 he put me the patch - 0.025. was almost counter productive. July was shockingly bad. I quit smoking, and used zyban aka wellbutrin - I got the script from a street clinic, and asked them to fax the paperwork to my gp.

when I saw him next he said, "I gather the patch was unsuccessful".

I said, "July was a nightmare, but August - not good, but noticebly better. The level of estrogen I needed exceeded the patch (0.1 mg) and I'm now on 1.25. Finally, with the wellbutrin, I'm comfy but when I try to quit it, the flushing comes back and its miserable. I also sleep better, am less tempted to commit murder or harikari, and as a result of being more rested, am better able to cope Life isn't perfect, but I can cope - most days.

hello Dutch,
My DR said I have to quit smoking also. I am going tomorrow to pick up chantix. My hubby used it to qiut. I have heard alot of success stories from people that used it. My mother in law smoked for 55 years, about 2 packs a day & has now been quit for 3 months. They both only took a 1 month supply. I hope it's gonna be that easy for me. The cost is high but I guess if you figure out what it cost to buy cigs it's worth it. Here in Pa its $122.00 for the first month. I think the second month is cheaper cause it don't have the small doses you use for the first 3 days.
