Anyone notice an increase in PVC's after consuming MSG? I had a really bad night last night and that is the only thing I can think of that caused it.

MSG can really bring on the palps. I have been told that most restaurants don't use it anymore, but I wonder. I recently found out that ranch dressing can have alot of MSG in it. At my age 52, about anything sets them off anymore.

Nice to know that I am not going crazy. I know that has to be what caused it. From what I read symptoms of MSG intolorance can happen up to 48 hours after it is consumed.

FYI, I found an interesting website about MSG. It is in more things that you can imagine and not always listed as MSG. These are some hidden names of MSG.

These ALWAYS contain MSG:

Glutamate Textured protein
Monosodium glutamate Hydrolyzed protein
Monopotassium glutamate (any protein that is hydrolyzed)
Glutamic acid Yeast extract
Calcium caseinate Yeast food
Sodium caseinate Autolyzed yeast
Gelatin Yeast nutrient

These very OFTEN contain MSG:

Malt extract Flavors(s) & Flavoring(s)
Malt flavoring Natural flavor(s) & flavoring(s)
Barley malt Natural pork flavoring
Bouillon Natural beef flavoring
Stock Natural chicken flavoring
Broth Seasonings (the word "seasonings")
Carrageenan Soy sauce
Maltodextrin Soy sauce extract
Whey protein Soy protein
Whey protein isolate Soy protein isolate
Whey protein concentrate Soy protein concentrate
Pectin anything Protein fortified
anything Enzyme modified

These can be used to CREATE MSG:

Protease enzymes Protease Fungal protease Enzymes

Read Wikipedia too. I wish out government would quit allowing all these things in our food.

Thanks for the info Stephanie. It's amazing what we eat! We have to worry about what they put in our food plus our pets food too! Connie
