My doctor gave me Ovcon 35 b/c pills to try and get my periods back to a "normal" length.  They are 16- 22 days apart along with night sweats, sleep loss etc.

I am 41 but 100 lbs over my ideal weight.

I keep reading that obesity is a reason not to use b/c pills. Why would my MD give them to me?

Anyone else overweight or know of someone overweight using them?

She tried natural progesterone cream and bi-est cream but that didn't work.  I think she is just not schooled enough to tweak the naturals and gave up. I may have to use Vitex to get this taken care of as I am unsure of the safety of the b/c pills.

I wish I had the luxury of seeing another doctor.  Small town...doctor shortage...next city is hours and hours from here (we live in the middle of no where in the desert).

Thanks for any help!Lynn

Hi Ladies,  I don't know if I am posting this in the right spot but I am going to give it a go. My doctor put me on oral contraceptives. If he keeps me on these until I enter menopause will I stop my period or because I am on the pill will I keep getting a regular period. If anyone has any experience or advice I would love to hear it.   Lizzy49
