hi all
wonder if anyone can help me.
For the last couple of nights while I have been in bed, I seem to having twitching and jumping sensations. They happen in my legs mainly, but then sometimes in my arms or stomache. they only happen when I am in bed. As soon as i get out of bed I am fine.
Does anyone else get this.

Hi Jaynebod, I get that too on and off in the legs, thank God more off than on. My Mom had Restless legs syndrome and I feared that I was on the same path. My legs would go kinda numb, yet painful and twitchy when I would lay down to sleep(My Mom would be up walking all night long for relief). Don't know if it is hormonal, can't pinpoint a time of month for it either but do know that it is a very bothersome, strange occurance.

I get this feeling too (pretty much every night or any time I lay down). I sometimes look over at my husband to see if he is moving around on the bed, but then realize he is sound asleep, and it's my body doing this. It's a scary feeling. Not only do I feel it in my legs, arms, and torso, I also feel it in my head. I have learned to ignore it, and for the most part I eventually get back to sleep. I also have a vibrating/buzzing feeling throughout my body in addition to this, so some nights are just awful!

hi janey,

i have had this condition restless leg syndrome for years, since starting in peri. not nice i know.

i have done lots of research into this condition. it has been linked to flucauting hormones, pregnant women report having this.

I get it most if i am hot and if i get woken up in the night, then try to go back to sleep.

it has been linked to iron defeciency and twitching muscles are lack of magesium. i would try and take both supplements and see if it relieves it.

mine went after taking the iron, but i still get it occassionaly!!

hope this helps

jayne, is right as your falling alseep?

Then it could what is call sleep starts, you can google it and see what you think. I get them when I'm really tired and it always happens right as your driffing off... they are harmless..

If it's a snapping feeling and painful could be: electic shock sensations, you can look that up right here in ps under the 34 symtpoms of menopause
