Hi everyone, ... listen, does anyone here get symptoms mainly on one side of their body? As you probably know, my MAIN problem for the last two mos. has been the left side of my head. Sure, I do get other symptoms such as off balance, sinus, ANXIETY, panic, aching legs....the ususal....BUT, ever since this began happening in my head, it's only been on the left side.
It began back in mid Feb. with that temple pressing, that lasted about 6 weeks, and then vanished. I haven't had that now for a few weeks, but as of today, it's TRYING to come back, I can 'feel it. Just this morning, when my heart decided to pound so hard that it nearly jumped out of my body, I felt that very familiar temple pressing again! (which brought on MORE anxiety!)...i messaged it for a while, and that helped. I don't know what the heck that is!!!!!! Any suggestions? I've had to take Benedryl again today, twice.
It seems to help the pressure feeling in my head at least, and somewhat the temple pressure too. This head pressure ON THE LEFT only, also seems to be affecting my teeth and gums on the upper left side. It's as if the gums on the top left, sort of ache too, and feel sensitive. WHAT THE HECK?

OK, the point is, does anyone have things that happen only on ONE SIDE of their body, or perhaps THEIR HEAD?????!!!!!
I want to know I'm not some kind of freak here, or that there's nothing really serious going on....if this pressure would shift from one side to the other at least I'd know it was just peri stuff.....but it's ALWAYS on the left side of my head! OCCASIONALLY , I can feel it on the right side, i'll get a sudden, ache or pain on the RIGHT temple and that TMJ joint outside your ear, but MOSTLY it's on the left! OH, my head (on the left..lol) feels so darn "weird", I can feel this "pressure" in there, and over by the nose under the eye.

thanks girls .... Sincerely, MyDarling

Yes I get that sometimes but most of the time both temples hurt. By any chance do you grind or clench your teeth at night? I know that is hard to know cause you are sleeping but your dentist can tell by the look of your teeth if you do. I know that is why I get that pain. I wear a night guard just to protect my teeth. Lately it has been extra bad cause my whole jaw will hurt. To top it off my PVC's are back after a vacation. I am guessing it is a stress thing for me which always leads to an anxiety thing. It is a vicious cycle.

Benadryl causes my heart to really race so watch that stuff too.

Hi Stephanie,

Well, for me Benedryl seems to help the pressure, I don't know what I'd do without it. One time, about a month or so ago, when I took it, it made my heart race too, which really scared me...but most of the time, it's fine. I try not to take it if i don't have to, but latley, I've had to take it twice in a 24hr. period, I can't help it, I hold out as long as I can, but the pressure is to much.

As far as having TMJ, oh yea, I've had that since I was in my 20's, I know I grind my teeth when I sleep, because sometimes when I wake up, say to go to the bathroom or from a dream, I'm already GRINDING tightly, so yes, I do that in my sleep as well, isn't that GREAT?!!! LOL..... well, I hope you have a great vacation!!!! and thank you for replying!

sincerely, mydarling

My Darling:

I am a chronic sinus sufferer. Often it is concentrated on one side although from year to year (since it is chronic) it has changed sides but one is always more prominent. Since the peri madness kicked in (about 3 months for me now) it is noticably worse and slightly changed with many of the symtoms you describe. What I mainly want to say is that the feeling in your teeth and gums is a classic symtom of sinusitis. Perhaps exacerbated by spring allergies. The ear/TMJ thing is something I get too. I believe it comes from a combination of sinus issues and anxiety or grinding at night.

When you blow your nose if the mucus is yellow/greenish you may have a doozy of a sinus infection and you should let you doctor know. If it runs clear then its probably not infected.

You are sooooooooo not alone.

all the best

Hi pookish,

thank you for replying! well i was at least glad to hear that you also get it on one side from time to time, I was beginning to wonder! As far as blowing my nose goes, I don't ever have to....I do have some drainage (very little) that drips down the back of my throat though, but when I spit it out, it looks kind of white, or clear. It's not yellow or green. However, if this isn't a sinus "infection" then what the heck is it? NOw, i did read on this other site, that hormonal fluctuations can actually cause the mucus membranes to swell.....so, maybe that's it. Today it is sitting on the top of my head, ON THE LEFT again, that pressure, and it's a weird feeling, hard to describe. I was trying to describe this to my husb. today, and I couldnt', I kept saying it felt like pressure, yet not, yet, it feels like STINGING in there, on top of my head - but also sort of up the nose, on the LEFT side again. It feels just plain "weird" in my head (on the left), it almost feels "puffy" or "full" .... UGH! Well, at least I'm not off balance anymore! YIPPIE!
See, about two weeks ago, I went through this time that lasted about 8 days of being off balanced, but THEN I didn't have the head thing to much at all.....so, it seems to move around, whatever this is. If it's not hitting you in one area, it's another.

I have been through the mill with this lame dr. i was seeing, who says it's NOT a sinus infection....yet, I'm not so sure. Because you can have a "dry" sinus infection, you know, where it doesn't drain, because it's clogged. No, I have a round of zithromax left over from Nov. when we all had this awful flue thing....I think I'll just go ahead and take them, can't hurt. I'm going to try some saline nasal spray, and gargle with salt water.....hopefully this will help. I'm taking Benedryl to deal with the pressure and stinging....I'm thinking maybe an allergy too. OH, then I read on this med. site (I know, I'm trying NOT todo that.....and yet, I can't help it, I need info. here!) that it could also be a FUNGAL infection....OH GREAT! WHAT THE HECK? Now, they did say that was more rare, but that, that is also a possibility! geez! I'm really only hoping that it's hormonal!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you again pookish! Sincerely, MyDarling
