Hi everyone--I'm new here. I was just told that I am finally post-menopausal. The worst symptom since going off the BCP (which I had been taking for the hormones) has been mood swings and depression. My GYN is going to put me on Prempro. Has anyone had good results with it helping with those symptoms? Thanks!

I have never used Prempro, and I'm sure you will get replies from those who have, but have you considered something bioidentical, like Vivelle patch plus Prometrium (bioidentical progesterone for the last two weeks of the month) instead of synthetics? Excuse me if you have already considered this, but I thought I'd put that out there.
I know that the Provera in the Prempro is suspected of being very harmful to the heart, plus you would be using a fake progesterone the entire month, when women only normally produce it for the last two weeks of the cycle.
Just an option to think about.l

Thanks for your reply. I'm a novice about HRT, so I will watch carefully for side effects. Luckily, my GYN is very open and amenable about the options that are out there. Thanks again!
