Hi Ladies,

I was on the Climara patch (.05) for 5 weeks and it didn't help the flashes or other symptoms..but at least  it didn't make things worse. My doc just ordered bioidenticals and had me remove the patch.  After the 1st dose, I had such a bad headache, I took 2 more doses and more of a miserable nauseous headache.  The pills were Bi-est (1.25) & Progesterone ( 100mg). My recent saliva tests were all in the normal range, although I've had no menses since January and I have a multitude of symptoms...flashes, fatigue, brain fog, burning feet, etc.  What do you think happened when my new body reacted with this new med?    I think I was over dosed on estrogen and maybe I need more progesterone and to just continue back on the climara patch. Please share your thoughts!!  Thanks!!  I will call the doc tomorrow and I'd like to know what I need to ask of him.Tedi

Did you take those extra doses all at once?  That would be an overdose!

Hi Zj,

I discontinued the climara patch and then started the prepared bioidenticals as the doc and pharmacist ordered.  I developed a headache within 2 hours of the 1st dose of Bi-est/progesterone in the doseages that I mentioned above.   Something is not right for me, perhaps it is both the dose and the route.  ( The climara patch did not stop the meno symptoms when I used that , but at least it did not create any new side effects.  Back to the drawing board. ) Tedi

Hi Everyone,

The pharmacist's secretary called me back saying that the pharmacist wanted me to keep taking the preparation as ordered. I said that I was not comfortable continuing with that preparation since it induced  terrible migraines for me.  I asked her to have the pharmacist speak to my GYN regarding a new plan...maybe going back to the climara patch  and working from there.  Gee, am I so weird, here? Has anyone had any similar symptoms?Tedi
