Hi everyone!!
I am new to this forum and am so glad I found this place! Actually I found it while doing a google search on UPPER LIP TINGLING!!
The past month all I have been doing is going to WebMD and Wrong Diagnosis forums. First I thought I was having a stroke! Then I thought it was MS. The problem is..or not the problem I should say..is that I have NO other symptoms of MS or Lupus.. but to be on the safe side I went to the doc yesterday and had a huge crying spell. I thought I had a disease or something and we did alot of blood tests which will come back next week. I have to tell you I feel 100% better thinking...hey...
maybe is it Peri? I called my grandmother and talked to her and I didnt know she had her "change" as she calls it when she was 37...same age as I am now.
My left calf has been vibrating inside like mad. Its seems better today but my doc did give me a B-12 shot and it calmed me down. This is funny..as I was typing about my vibrating calf,,it started happening!! The power of the mind is amazing isnt it? I thought I was having a nervous breakdown the past month or so as the tingling in my upper lip, nose, part of my eye and part of my forehead are all tingling or feeling like novicaine is wearing off. SO for all you ladies that have experienced this..can you tell me when this is going to end? Its just really really annoying. I feel a bit better knowing this could be the problem and I dont have some kind of disease. Easter was awful for me as I was panicking and trying to have a great day for my 2 boys. First thing I have to do is STOP trying to diagnose myself as I think it is making me nuttier. But could this be the problem...?????? Perimenopause? Anyone else with this weird symptom please please please post and tell me NOT TO PANIC!!
THanks for listening all =) wink.gif

I would say yes don't panic! you sound to me like you are haveing a panic attack with the lips and thing that vibrate. as far as your left calf i have problems with my left calf that sometimes keeps me awake at night. and then sometimes goes into my knee. don't worry about things to much until you get your test results back. i used to get a flickering in my eye and lip but have not had it recently. i started to use a progestogen cream from the health food store with in time it got better, Pro-gest by emetria. try it give it a few weeks to work and see how you feel. Stacy welcome to the boards. DO NOT PANIC!!!
I've had the same symptoms you've described since I was 38. They come and go at random. I am now 53 and started BHRT over a year ago. I still get the lip tingles, vibrating ankles/feet, buzzy head/face and I just don't worry about it anymore. Years ago I was certain I had a brain tumor or was headed for a stroke. After 15+ years of MRI's, CT scans, numerous blood tests, ER visits, ENT specialists, neurologists and even a Neurosurgeon I realize now it was all peri-menopause.
My best advice is to RELAX, BREATHE and make sure to take quiet time for yourself every day. It's too easy to work yourself into a panic which restricts the blood flow. I've found over the years that Yoga and Pilates (core stretching) have helped ease the anxiety so I highly recommend them. Please know you have MANY 'peri-meno sisters' on these boards who are here to help if you need us.
Good luck to you.

Oh my goodness, I have been doing the exact same thing with WebMD and similar sites. I kept thinking I have MS or Lupus (I have autoimmune thyroid disease, too so I was convinced I was getting some other autoimmune disease!). It is kind of funny to hear someone else thinking the same thing! I have been having the same problems but it never occured to me that it could be perimenopause!

Have you had tingling/pain along your gum line above your teeth? I am having that as well. I've had tons of dental xrays, antibotics for sinusitus, and even a round of sterroids but nothing has fixed the problem. I wonder if this could be hormonal as well?
