Hi,

I am new here and was wondering if anyone can tell me if you still get symptoms that your period is coming when you're "done" with peri? I have only skipped 3 period but every month ( around the time my period is due) I get all the symptoms of a period, yet nothing happens. Some slight colorless discharge but nothing else. Its so frustrating cause I feel like I got it all day long and when I check, nothing again! I either want it to be gone for good or start up again so some of the symptoms will go away! Has this happend to anyone else. I am 42 and have been in peri for 2 years.

Hi Happytimes,

I believe this is called a phantom period. I skip periods alot and sometimes feel like I'm getting one and it doesn't come but mostly when I'm not getting one I feel nothing. My last period came on like a ton of bricks and the only symptom was a bit of a migraine. I sure bled a lot and for about 8 days mad.gif .

Thanks for your reply. I know about phantom periods. What a pain they are! I was wondering if the phantom periods mean that a period is on the way or do you still get them when your're done? The way I feel today ( and for the last week) I can't imagine not getting a period again for another 9 months! ( I have missed 3, well will be 3 when this month ends). Saw a tiny bit of spotting this morning, got exicted, the spotting ended in 15 minutes, got depressed again. LOL! story of my life!

Ugh! That must really stink! Can't imagine it myself. Lately, in between my last two periods I've had the out of nowhere cramps and slightly discolored (brownish) mucous and a lot of it. Very strange. I'm hoping I don't have any more periods but I'm not optimistic at this point. Missed 3 1/2 mos. at one point but then have had two in a row about 3 weeks apart. Joy of joys. During those three months I had the phantom period thing too but it was barely noticable really. It would be nice if it ALL would just go away...I'm almost 55. As my daughter used to say when she was little, "I'm so bored of this!".
