Hello ladies,
I called one of the Dr.'s recommemded on this website and he mentioned a testestorone gel to apply directly to the clitoris to help with stimulation and orgasm. When I claled my Dr. he said the gel was irritating and he wouldn't recommend it. I have been trying the testostorone lotion, transdermal, but with no positive effect. I have bben inorgasmic for a couple of months and wonder if testestorone gel would help. Dr. put me on 1 mg. test. lotion 2x per day. I don't feel any different, libido wise. Also, nut much feeling in the vaginal area. I just stopped BHRT other than testestorone because I still have my uterus and I can't tolerate progesterone. I'm 58 and just stopped having regular periods 14 mos. ago. I tried Zhestra but it only make me feel warm, nothing else.
Thanks so much. This message board has helped me so much during this stressful time in my life.
Blessings,

The gel directly to the appropriate area can help if lack of testosterone is your problem. Have you had it tested?

You would have to know what the testosterone is mixed with, often a gel is alcohol-based. Both Androderm and Testim are bioidentical testosterone gels mixed with alcohol. You would not want to apply either of those to a sensitive area as the alcohol would be very irritating. But it would be fine applied to a nonsensitive area such as the back of a leg. If you really feel it makes a difference where the testosterone is applied, a compounding pharmacy can mix testosterone into a nonirritating cream that can be applied elsewhere.
Testosterone is helpful if you have a lowered libido (loss of interest in sex) but everything I have read so far states that estrogen is mainly responsible for clitoral sensation and orgasm so I'm not sure how much testosterone would help. Good luck - let us know if you have success!

I have been using testoserone gel for almost 10 years. I am 57. I started using it in periomenopause when I had a regular partner, but continue to use it sparingly to keep the parts working, so to speak,. When I stopped menstruating at 51, gradually, especially the last two years, orgasm is quite difficult to achieve without the gel. Do any of you ladies experience this? It is hard to discuss with someone, so I am relying on this board for some input. I still hope to have a partner on a regular basis( I take the matter into my own hands a couple times a week for maintenance, use it or lose it). I am not ready to give up this part of my life and am grateful for this gel. However, when I first used it, being quite active with my partner, I used too much and it did enlarge me there some. Not terribly but on the high normal side. So you really have to be careful with this hormone. Even now, I am careful about how much I use and don't have the powerful orgasms I once had. Without the gel, it is a 2, with it about a six, before it was a 9. It is like I get aroused and think it will be quite an orgasm and then it is just a local release but not with the full flowing pleasure. Once in a blue moon I can get a 7 or 8 orgasm if I use the gel consistently for several days in a row. I am dating someone now, and probably will become intimate soon. I really would like to hear other ladies experience with this and how you feel about the decline, or whatever. Talke to me!

Hello,
I talked with Pete Huesman and he said to use only a lentil pea size dab or the gel. I should be getting mine this week and I'm very excited to see if it works. Im 58 and just stopped having orgasims about 1 yr. ago. I hope this helps. I am married and miss having an easy orgasm. Now it is almost impossible. I tried Zystra but it only provided warmpth and lubrication. I hope I don't get deformed by using this hormone.
I'll keep you posted on how it works for me.

It works well for me - but you have to use it consistently - not just before becoming intimate.

I tried Maca. It didn't help me.
My husband had a head cold, whilst home on holidays before Christmas. Concentrated germ warfare... I took offensive action and force fed him zinc. Bunches of it, even after the cold began. The cold was v short lived, and he came out the other side of it v romantic.
Testosterone, in men, builds bones and muscle mass. Hubby was and is still on a fitness and diet kick. He had been using up testosterone, and not replenishing it. Zinc, magnessium and calcium are important, necessary minerals for the production of testosterone. Our water is heavy with calcium, and I was stuffing zinc down him. When I explained what was happening, he absconded with the zinc and magnessium and put them in his night table drawer.

Hi Everyone,
I just received my testostorone gel from Bellevue Pharmacy per Pete Huesman. It worked one night then the next night absolutely no feeling, no response, nothing. I tried putting some more on......nothing. Because this is not testorone lotion but gel, I was told to use only a lentil pea size dab directly on my clitoris, which I did. One night it was great and then.....poof. It didn't do anything. I'm worried about using too much because I have heard it can cause enlargement of the genetilia. I think I better give Pete a call. Does anyone know if it takes time or have to build up before working consistently. Needless to say I was disappointed as was hubby on the second try. I was told it would work immediately. I know some are using 1 mg. of test. cream but I believe this product is different. Maybe I need to add some DHEA. I'll talk to Pete on Monday, if I can reach him. Thanks and any of your experiences would be appreciated. P.S. I used it right before sex, pehaps 15 minuts prior.

I try to get away with using as little as possibe due to using too much at first. see above post. But I have to agree; you do need to use a little every day to get the effect. I dont get the effect I did when I was younger, and I try to work a balance of a response of what is acceptable and the risk of using too much. Sometimes the intensity of orgasm is stronger than others but I have not yet found a pattern that I can rely on.
