Hi Everyone,
I have been in peri for about two years and have had almost all of the 34 symptoms on and off. (Fortunately not at the same time!) The past couple of weeks I have had on and off pain on the right side that is in my back and front (just slightly under my ribs). I have had muscular pain in my back area before, but this is the first time it has moved to the front of my body. Sound familiar to anyone?
I have the added stress of having put down a much loved dog last week who had cancer, which has caused many peri symptoms to come roaring back...upset stomach, loss of appetite, light headedness, sore breast... All of which make me become very paranoid that I either have ovarian cancer, breast cancer etc.
Thanks to this site, many of my fears are put to rest!

Hi,,,
actually I've had what you described. I don't get the pain in the front as much, but I have. What that is, I don't really know.
I do know, however, that when under stress, these symptoms get much worse! Your fears about what you "might" be dealing with, are like mine, I am the same way.....but most probably, that's not it.
I just wanted to let you know you're not alone with this fear, and I hope you feel better....
Sincerely, MyDArling

Thanks for your reply. It is such a relief that we all share symptoms...instead of us individually thinking we have some horrible disease!
I must say, this is quite a ride we are all on!

Hi Katerina,
I have had the same pain since July. If you do a search on this message board with my name you can read my back posts. Have you seen a doctor about this? Please go if you can just to relieve your worries. The pain could be caused from a variety of illnesses. I was diagnosed with gastitis and acid reflux. And as MyDarling says, stress can bring it on.

Katerina,
I have had the same pain in the same place for about a month now. its not always in one spot but moves a little lower or higher , up front or around back. I had a catscan done a week ago and everything is fine. (suprise suprise) lol. I dont know what it is. probably muscular?
It seems like ive been hit with one ache and pain after another , one after the other for the past 3 months or so. I HAVE to get everything checked out thouroghly before i can let go of my obssessing about it. but as long as i still feel the pain i still worry. Sometimes i wish for my " plain old anxiety" without any aches and pains to worry about. After going through all this worry about something terrible be wrong with my body, i realise that anxiety with no reason is prefferable and easier to deal with.

I agree with Sudio....I have had that off and on over the past 4 years as well. I've had numerous tests, including CT scans WITH contrast (for the other gal who is afraid of having one) and all went just fine. In fact, I couldn't believe how quickly that test went and I was so relieved when I got the results and they were normal! All that said, for me, it was muscle tension. It starts in the back and eventually tightens all the way around to the side and under the right rib. I can put my finger on it in front and once when I had an ultrasound of the gallbladder (I was SURE it was that!), pancreas, liver, etc., the tech would ask me exactly where did I feel the pain...she scanned the exact spot and said, "there is NOTHING there"! Sometimes, for me, it takes these expensive tests to prove to me it is anxiety that produces muscle tension which produces a plethora of symptoms!! I have learned to live with it, it's not as bad as it used to be and now I am not afraid of it. Some things to get better with time.
I figure if it was going to kill me, I'd be long gone by now!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your responses and support. Before I had my doctors appointment, I went to see my accupuncturist. I have been seeing her for almost 5 years. She specializes in infertility (she is responsible for me getting pregnant at 42) and also focuses on menopausal issues.
She said the pain was all stress related--both due to the death of my dog, and also peri stress. For me, whenever I have stress in my life, my peri flares up and so does my imagination! (I was certain I had liver cancer!) I have had several accupuncture and massage treatments and also am taking some herbs and feel much better. I highly recommend accupuncture for peri symptoms. Even if it doesn't work for everyone, there are no adverse side effects!

Hi the pain your describing it is so familiar i had it a couple years a go found out it was my gallbladder. so you might want to have your Doctor look into it by giving you a ultrasound. The surgery is simple these days laporscopic a few tiny holes and the hospital stay is home next day for me and i had no pain whatsoever just discomfort after wards. Good luck and yes Gallbladder is another peri symtom.
