ok, I had a very bad night, well, I had a very bad DAY as well yesterday. My sinuses were acting up so badly. I had taken Benedryl all day, and then late last night I was on some kind of health forum or something,,and they were talking about how advil and tylenol and etc..cause kidney and liver damage, which I knew, but I thought that was if you REALLY over did it, or were in bad health. UNTIL this woman says that it actually happened to two of her family members who had been taking either advil or tylenol for some kind of ailment. So, there I sat, in front of my comp., panicking because I've been taking Benedryl a lot the last few days, you know, every 4 - 5 hrs. like it says, and I'm thinking OH GOD, AM I GOING TO GET LIVER DAMAGE NOW? So, I didn't end up taking the last set of Benedryl to go to bed with, because like I said, my sinuses were so bad yesterday! so, I took a xanax instead, and hoped it would put me to sleep at least. THINK AGAIN!

I slept on and off, dream after dream, up to go to the bathroom a number of times,...and all the while, the sinus stuff was BAD, WITH ALL THAT HORRIBLE LEFT TEMPLE PRESSURE AND SQUEEZING all the time! I thought I'd loose my mind! This was a bad night, and today, its SLIGHTLY better, only because Im up and things are taking my mind off it. I finally just gave in a few minutes ago, and took another set of Benedryl, hopefully it'll help the sinus.

What I need to know is.....ok, does anyone here have this CONSTANT temple pressure and squeezing? I've been told that sinus can do that...is that true? I had a slight fever this morning as well, 99.3 .... but then it went down within a few minutes to 98.4 - geez. This is Mid cycle for me.....day 14 (I'm usually every 28 days...sometimes 26)....so maybe all this is from that, what do you think guys?

For a few days, just a few days ago really.....my sinsus wasn't bad at all....there were a few days I only took Benedryl ONCE for the whole 24hr. period....but as of YESTERDAY AND NOW...WOW! ALSO, I feel as though my scalp is SORE! ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE AGAIN! Not all over either, just sort of around the temple area, and the up farther, say around where you'd have a middle part, but on the left side of that. But, all of this wasn't good enough apparently, because, I then developed this weird "pain" on the top back of my head, which is pretty much gone now.

Ladies, I am trying not to panic here.....but this gets hard. I just need to know if other people have this temple thing, if it feels like it squeezes and presses,....I also feel that on that joint there, the one outside your ear (the TMJ joint)......it also STINGS on that joint!!!!!!

I really can't take this anymore!

Hi mydarling, I see you've posted quite a few times about your temple pain and have received lots of responses. A little wise-woman advice for you would be to NOT search symptoms on the internet! That will do nothing but drive you absolutely wacko! I learned that MANY moons ago. Too many things mimic menopause symptoms and reading them will do nothing more than drive your anxiety sky high. Trust your doctor and take his/her advice. I'm assuming you've talked to him/her about your sinus problems? There are a boodle of people complaining about sinus woes right now probably because the allergy season is kicking in along with colds and flu's going around. I'm on an antibiotic at the present for a sinus/bronchial infection. I think it's common this time of the year. If you haven't consulted with a doctor yet, DO SO! And give yourself a piece of mind and find out once and for all what's causing your discomfot. We can give support here but we certainly can't deliver any medical advice. After reading all of your posts on this it's quite obvious that you are frightened about it. Maybe you should seek the advice of an ENT (ear/nose/throat specialist) and get their opinion. Good luck!

Hi Kleeo,

yeah, I've "discussed" it with him, and he doesn't think it's a sinus INFECTION, I don't know.....he's basing this on the fact that I dont have discharge, or nasal drip, but as we all kow, you don't have to! I feel like I'm getting the brush off. If it's not a sinus INFECTION, then what is it? Obviously, I'm not asking you to tell me, I'm just venting. It ticks me off. All of this comes and goes, so he's assured me it's at least not a brain tumor..lol..which, is the favorite fear for women our age. But still in all, this is awufl.
Now, I've reasearched this (I know, I try very hard to not do that...but I have gotten to the point where when I read all the diff. serious diseaeas it COULD be, i just take it with a grain of salt, because I don't REALLY believe it's a brain tumor)..so, I've looked this stuff up, you know, the TEMPLE PRESS. AND SQUEEZING, the sinus type pressure in my head.....ok, well usually what you get are sites discussing sinus, or allergies. I don't know....as I'm sitting here now, I have that stinging, squeezing feeling on that joint outside the ear, the TMJ joint....I have kind of a weird sinus pressure feeling up on the left side of my head.....I took two benadryl finally, it's helping somewhat. A friend of mine, who has known me since we were in the 7th grade, (she REALLY knows me), has said to me, she thinks it's tension....very well could be. But, then again, I've never heard of tension, causing a squeezing feeling on your temple.

See, we are only covered for two dr.'s under my husbands ins. from work.....I've been to both, one doesn't think it's "anything" just stress.....the other thinks it's an ear infection! Geez...so here we go.....I'm going to be taking zithromax and see what happens! I really really do hope this takes away this temple pressure.

Kleeo, or anyone.....is temple pressure and squeezing part of peri? I think I've read that, but I can'at remember now.
I would say the temple pressure is there most of the time, with "off" days, where it's not there at all, or very little.......the SQUEEZING feeling is there on and off too....however, for the past few days it's been constant. Any help, any advice, any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Does any of this sound familiar to anyone here?

thanks you guys! MyDarling
Kleeo
I don't think squeezing pain in the temple that is constant is a peri symptom. I still stick with the theory that it sounds like trygeminal neuralgia. If I were you, I'd seek the advice of a specialist, be it an ENT or neurologist. Maybe even a pain specialist. That's where you're going to find the answers you're looking for.

Mydarling,
I get the temple thing once in a while, just notice a slight tight feeling that comes and goes. I too am very stuffed up lately ears and nose...I went to an ent and all was fine.

I may not get the temple pressure like you, but it almost seems like when I do it feels like it does if I were to clench my teeth. If you do this you can feel how your temple tightens. I wear a mouth gaurd daily for tmj...it keeps me from putting my teeth together with such force. I don't kow if this is something your doing...maybe a possability.

The power of the mind huh...I was doing my thing this morning and just happened to look at my left hand breifly and noticed 3 of my fingers were bluish at the tips. I sat there and compared my hands for a few min. and kept saying yep it's bluish......what could it be...my circulation is bad...and so on when I looked a little closer and my rational mind started to chime in...it looks like I have blue on my hands...that would makes sense seeing as it is 3 fingers together at the tips. I went to wash it of and suprise it was gone. I had worked myself almost into a panic. HUGS to you Mikki

Good Afternoon "mydarling."

First of all - I agree with Kleeo. Do NOT surf the internet, typing in symptoms and then scared as you read what any symptom could be. I did and believe me, I suffered mentally for it.

That said - I have a bad habit of grinding my teeth at night (bruxism) and the muscles along both sides of my face are very tight (according to my dentist). Perhaps that could be a problem with you.

Also - I use hydrogen peroxide, squirting some my each nostril and a few drops in each ear as well as gargle with it. Works very well! After all, hydrogen peroxide is water with an extra oxygen molecule.

Hope this may help.
