Any one out there 40 and over, trying to have a baby? I'd like to hear from you.

I am - we have been trying since we had a surprise pregnancy 3 years ago that ended in miscarriage at 8w. We've had several more losses since, unfortunately.

Yes! I'm 43 and have a 3 1/2 year old daughter. A couple of months ago, my husband and I decided to "pull our goalie" and see what happens. A month ago I missed a period and developed swollen sore breasts, so I actually thought I'd gotten pregnant almost right away! But I've just discovered that it's perimenopausal symptoms that coincidentally hit right at the same time we started trying! sad.gif So I don't know what my chances are like.

I won't be devastated to not have a second child --I feel very fortunate to have had my daughter at 39. But I would still like to keep trying. My sister gave birth to her first child a month before she turned 46, several years after she first entered perimenopause and when they were not trying.

I would love to hear the stories of others who are trying/tried and who are/were perimenopausal.

(*Sorry to post this twice: I just want to make sure that the first poster gets the reply.)

I had a child at 43 (my first), and tried an IVF that failed. I found an accupuncturist who specializes in infertility and after six months of weekly accupuncture, herbs and lifestyle changes I was pregnant. If you can find someone in your area, it is worth a try!

Good luch!
