Hi ladies~

I have noticed when I'm doing something like flossing my teeth, lifting weights, or talking too quickly and too much, I tend to hold my breath or perhaps not get enough oxygen in my lungs. When this happens I notice I'll have quick palpitations, lasts a few seconds (racing heart kind). Does this happen to anyone else? It's just habit of mine, there are times that I just don't breath properly.

Thanks for any feedback.....

I just found an article that said if you have a tendency to hold your breath when you panic, are stressed, doing strenuous activities, or just tend to shallow breath, this will cause palpitations. It said that it causes your heart rythm to fall off track and therefore, palpitate. Another fact about palpitations that I did not know (only 200 more to go!).

Karen, isn't this whole mess absurd? WHAT NEXT? mad.gif I can relate to what you're describing, it has happened to me. I notice more and more these days that I'm WAY more aware of my breathing. I hold my breath more, seems like I struggle to take DEEP breaths at times, and sometimes I SWEAR my heart is going to beat right out of my chest. SO many things seem to cause heart palps! sad.gif I get 'stomach palps, if that makes any sense at all? I hope you feel better now finding out what causes this. Sometimes when I find articles that make sense out of my symptoms it gives me some sort of calm. Very strange.

HUGS!
