FOr quite a while now, I have been having off an on these pains on spots on the skull . It is a sharp pain that comes and goes every few seconds (when I am having them) and is sharp and feels sore to touch but somehow when the ache if I rub these sore spots or press them that helps for a bit. These spots of swollen pain are often on the skull up diagonally behind the ears about an inch or so. I do also have ringing in the ears almost all the time for years now, but the skull pain comes and goes....is this really a headache that people get with peri?
Hi,
yeah, I get that too, I get all sorts of pains in my head actually! It occurred to me the other day that I've actually been getting those for years now, and never associated it with peri, but since I"m 49 right now, I guess that has been it. I get the sharp pains, the stabbing pains, or the kind of pains that shoot from one side of your head, to the other. Lots of head pressure, usually on the left side of my head, for some reason, it's always the left. Sometimes it feels like sinus, other times it feels like just plain pressure, or pain. Recently, I started getting sore spots as well, on the back of my head. They are there for a day or two, and then vanish.
With the sore spots, it bothers me to touch it. But with the pressure and pain problem, that does feel better when you press against it. I don't know if any of these are considered "headaches" either, or just head pain. I know a lot of women here get "head pain" AND "headaches", or like a tight band around the head. I haven't gotten that one yet. LOL
I was reading on some site that this is due to perimenopause, and menoapuse. So, there we are, but at least you know you're not alone in this!
Sincerely, MyDarling
