Hi there everyone,

I know full well I'm in peri becasue i have off the wall symptoms, but today, the inner side of my elbow on my left arm is huritng, you know, where they stick you for a blood test? that's the place. I was sitting on my couch watching tv, and I got this
pain deep in there. It seems to come and go. It doesn't really hurt to touch it, but it does feel a little bit "sensitive". My GYN told me once, about a year ago now, that during peri, the hormones can change so drastically that it can do absolutley crazy things to you, to your muscles, your tissues, your veins, your whatever! He told me that women get crazy symptoms sometimes, and that pains, stabbing, shooting pains, aches deep in your muscles or even veins is not uncommon! But I guess I am a little worried because it's my left arm, and I tend to think it'll go to my heart or something! My arm isn't red, or swollen, it's just that it hurts in that soft area behind the elbow, it's a strange feeling, and what scared me was that after i got a few of t hese pains, the rest of my arm from the elbow down to my fingertips, started tingling, with pins and needles - I wish I could describe this feeling, it's almost as if I wasn't getting any blood to the lower part of my arm or hand but I must have been because I could use it, and it wasn't numb.
Just now, as I'm typing this, my hand feels like it's being flushed with warm water! Is this anything bad or serious?

If anyone else here is dealing with something like this please let me know! I didn't do anything to my arm, I didn't lay on it, or twist it, nothing, it just started to hurt deep inside there.

thank you all in advance!

I had that same pain-I even thought that maybe they had bruised my vein at the drs,or something, but it was not bruised.I also had the flu like joint pains at that time as well.I hope it goes away, try some ibuprophen,if you can take it.GOD bless.

I had that same pain once about 2 years ago. Bothered me off and on for about 2 weeks. Had decided to make a dr's appointment then POOF it disappeared as fast as it came on! I wouldn't be too concerned about it, probably just a sore/tired muscle. If it gets worse or bothers you to the point of stressing give your doc a call and have it checked! Most likely it's nothing and will disappear on it's own!

It seems any pain on the left side creates heart related anxiety. I feel it which only comounds the pain. If I were a rationalizing person, I would think any heart related issues would have more than one symptoms, progressively getting worse. During those anxiety filled moments rationality takes a hike and I am fighting a panic attack in the making. Getting on my stationary bike helps. Were it my heart, I would have chest related pain with the exercise increase; I don't. Trying to be a thinking person is very hard and my depleted hormone brain balks at every suggestion that there is really nothing wrong. I think it thrives on chaos and a disaster thinking way of life.

If you are getting tingling down into your fingertips it sounds like you have a trapped nerve.
I really wouldnt worry. If you had a heart problem you wouldn't feel it in your elbow!

thank you all! It's a strange sort of ache, it's deep, and yet also superficial. I've noticed also that, that soft spot (where they stick you for a blood test) is a little darker shade all of a sudden than the other arm in the same spot, AND that I can now see tiny little spider veins showing that weren't there before, and are not on the other arm!!! The feeling is as though either somethinng is cramping or squeezing in there, and then I see these little spider veins appear. This seems strange. Someone mentioned a pinched nerve, or an entraped nerve, I guess that COULD be it, but I didn't do anything to it, I didn't bend it wrongly. The woman next door to us, who is now in her mid fifties used to tell me, (this was now about 4-5 yrs. ago) that she would get pain and aches behind her knees, I used to think she was just a complainer, now I know for myself! I'm trying to piece this together, if she got pain and aches (oh, and she'd lift up her house dress to show me the backs of her legs, and behind her knee there were all these spider veins that she said had showed up with the pain) behind her knee in that soft spot, then that's like this area, except behind the elbow! Do hormones ATTACK this area or something? I know that may sound funny, but it seems to fit. Now I'M THE ONE getting this type of pain behind a major joint (being the elbow, and hers was behind another major joint, the knee), I wonder if it's actually affecting THE JOINT and I don't know it.

Ladies, can hormones really do this? I need to know that, I am going to call my GYN tomorrow and try to ask him. But, if someone could get back to me and tell me if hormones can be doing this, at least I won't spend the night awake and worrying, this really does feel very annoying and this pain makes my arm feel heavy as well.

thank you all!

I went to urgent care a few weeks ago just for this same reason, they all it tennis elbow. Use heat or ice, rest your arm until it feels better. These of the type of things that are driving us nuts!

Tennis elbow is an injury to the muscles and tendons on the outside (lateral aspect) of the elbow that results from overuse or repetitive stress. The narrowing of the muscle bellies of the forearm as they merge into the tendons create highly focused stress where they insert into the bone of the elbow.

Angelbaby,
There is a topic where lots of us have posted about left arm pain. I've had this arm pain for some months now. In the same area as yours but mine seems to move arround to the shoulder, shoulderblade and just all over the arm. Mine feels like a deep warm dull ache, it is not pain. I was beginning to panic until I found the left arm ache topic. Lots of us experience it. Now I just try to rest my arm as much as possible. Hope this helps.

Docs look at me like I am crazy.
It started about 2 years ago.
I have not had it for about 3 months now hope it has gone for good.
It has to be peri meno related I never had it until my periods went haywire.
I know it can be sooo scary.
I was totally freaked out by it.
