Hi everyone,

well here we go again. ... does anyone here ever get this weird feeling in their leg, sort of like there is no blood flowing in your leg? I don't know it's hard to describe really. You know that feeling you get in your arm or leg, just before it COMPLETLEY falls "asleep", like say if you're laying on it, cutting off the blood, and you start to realize it, so you move .... well, you know that
weird, kind of "tickly" feeling you get? that almost "warm" feeling, JUST BEFORE it was about to get numb, it's the feeling of no blood flowing in there .... (I'm not talking about the sensation of pins and needles you get when the blood COMES FLOWING BACK IN, no, that's another feeling...) yeah, THIS FEELING is more like JUST BEFORE the blood totally does get cut off to that limb, it's almost a warm feeling, a little "tickly" .... does anyone ever get that.? It is happening right now to my right leg. I was having weird right leg symptoms last night too, I noticed that when I had taken my compression hose off (knee hi's) that I wear sometimes for these lousy varicose veins that seem to have popped up in Jan. out of nowhere....well, last night, when I took them off, I noticed that my right foot (ankle) was SLIGHTLY swollen, no biggie ... and then, other things followed. Other symptoms in the right foot, like tingling, hot/cold, just plain WEIRD, and sure enough, BINGO, another varicose vein pops up! (on the foot, the part where it crosses over from your foot up your leg) ...

anyway, my leg was basically ok today, but this weird feeling just started up a little while ago...now, I've had this before, and
all I ever get from the two dr'.s I've seen is "it coudl be anything", I'm hoping it's JUST HORMONES......anyone??????????????

Hi,
Boy do I know what u mean! I don't have varicose veins, but for the last month I've had the same symptoms, tingling , I mean 24/7. And the feeling where there is no blood flowing scares me to death. All this just started a month ago. I did start riding a stationery bike and it does seem to help. (for now) I say for now because everytime I think I got something in check something else pops up! I am hoping my symptoms are just peri. It's really very scary. Sorry,I can't be of more help!

I don't know if you have restless leg syndrome but I had a spell of my legs feeling all achy and tight and it really kept me up at night. My doctor prescribed tonic water because it has quinine in it. He also gave me a prescription for quinine but by the time I got it, the pain went away.

Can't hurt to try it.

Good luck.

I think that is what I have been having too! I was going to ask the same question. It comes and goes. I had it yesterday and again this morning. Mine feels like it is just under the skin and usually in my left leg. Movement seems to help it. I also get the pains in a small area in my lower leg off and on just underneath the skin - almost feels like a buise but it is not - I had not hit myself or anything.
I too get worried thinking the worse and then try to shake it off as one of many peri symptoms that suprise me with something new and scary.

Hugs and Blessings,

I've got something weird, too. I'm just *aware* of my legs. There's a feeling of both tiredness and restlessness.

Yep..me too...tired, weak, tingly, itching, jumping muscles, burning inner thigh, foot vibrations, toe stabbing pains, sharp pain outside of knee. Sometimes my legs feel like they don't respond right...slower than I want them to be..make sense? At times my legs feel like they aren't attached to my body and I don't have that fine control. Maybe I am just so damn hyperaware of every sensation...it's all magnified?

A new day, a new symptom...welcome to my world....yuck.

hey, one more thing.........I noticed some of you said it started LAST MONTH, in JANUARY? WOW...so did mine! how old are you guys? I'm 49, I'll be 50 this year. Just wondering, I think it's really something that so many women here have started with these very strange, scary symptoms this JANUARY! hhhhhhmmmmm....................................

DEFINITELY sounds like Restless Leg Syndrome.
I have had it for the last , oh, at least ten years.
My doc also prescribed tonic water (for the quinine),and quinine tabs. But because of no medical support system, and unable to afford the script, I stayed with the tonic!
Not sure if it helped (cause I HATE the taste, and couldn't drink it regularly)

I have found that hot baths soothe the legs. My ex pointed out how regular I was. After 9 months together he commented that "It's 2:30am. Shouldn't you be taking your bath about now?" This after my wakening him with my "happy feet" for months, tried to sleep, couldn't, had a bath and settled right away!

There is also the possibility that a B2 deficiency can add to the problem.

I have been taking supplements and have been mostly sleeping more comfortably, but the beast does rear its ugly head at least once a week. Always the hot bath cures, at least for the night!

I feel for you, My Darling.
I have most of my baths with candles, soft music and a glass of wine. If we have to suffer, at least we should enjoy it!

Hi everyone,

thank you for replying! I looked up restless leg syndrome, ok, it doesnt seem like that ALTOGETHER, it seems to maybe resemble it, but not completley. This feeling, this sensation, is weird, like I said, it feels "tickly", AND tingly, it's as though the blood isn't flowing to the leg, and of course it is. My foot can get in on this too, it gets sort of like a hot/cold thing going on there, and tingling ....it's very uncomfortable, and distracting, you just can't pay attention to anything else while this is happening!
That feeling that the blood isn't flowing in my leg is scary, and weird ... it obviously must be, I can walk on it, and it doesn't feel numb, but it feels as if my leg isn't attached to my body (like was mentioned above as well), ... it's very hard to describe this feeling, I've never had it before in my life, UNTIL JANUARY!

well, I'll try the baths, which sound nice......and the quinine water .... I'm going to look up some natural remedies for this stuff we're going through, there has to be something!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you girls! MyDarling

Hey,
this is really strange to me that this started in january for a few of us? My Dr. mentioned that it could possibly be some kind of virus?? for me that is?? Just curious, but did anyone have by chance a sore throat or flu like symptoms before this started. I did have a really bad sore throart before this started. Makes me wonder, maybe something went haywire and activated my hormones and threw me into peri?? I don't think I have restless leg syndrome because then I must have restless arm syndrome too if there is such a thing. I get similar sensations in my arms but, it is more severe in my legs. I get burning underneath my thighs, what is that?? hotflash?? someone tell me please! lol

Hi,
I can't figure out how to start a new topic on this board but, does anyone have pain inside their ears and on the outer part of the ears as a symptom??? I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. It's not constant but, it comes and goes.
thanks!
