I am no expert but I would think they would go ahead with it. Have you called your doctor?

Since it is Sunday there is no one available to talk to. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. *sigh* I would think it will still be a go but you just never know...lol
Thanks smile.gif

Kaija,

I don't know if you'll get through, of course, but I'd put in an emergency call to my doctor. They all have services that will contact them in an emergency. I'm sure he or she would want to tell you to show up at the hospital or not.

I just had a vaginal hysterectomy with cycstocele (sling) repair and rectocele, plus a lot of connective tissues repair due to the way my uterus had prolapsed. Sounds like you're having a similar type surgery. Let me know how you do. I'll be three weeks post op next Monday.

The surgery wasn't too bad. I was only in overnight. Pain was minimal, I only took pain killers for a couple days.

But I had to come home with a catheter because my bladder wasn't emptying quite right. Long story, short, my pharmacy misread my Rx and gave me too low a dosage of antibiotics (which were supposed to cover any infection I might get.) But they didn't figure out the mistake until a week post op. At that point I was having fevers, my MS was flaring due to the fevers, and when I started having trouble breathing, we called the paramedics.

I had developed pneumonia in both lungs, so I ended up back in the hospital for 4 days for IV antibiotics. I've been out 4 days now, still on oral antibiotics, but feeling so much better. MS calmed down once the fevers passed. I go first of the week to see the surgeon and hope that surgery held, despite all the coughing. But I'm still not having any pain, just tired, and easily fatigued.

OH my gosh, Dawn, you've been through a lot. :-( I'm happy to hear that you're doing better now.

How traumatic is it to hear a doctor tell you all that needs to be done ? I have only as of yet had elective surgeries, a jaw operation to correct my bite and a tubal ligation. I know at some point in my life I will need some kind of repair sooner or later. It must be a real blow to hear the news. You must be very happy that the surgery is all done, your complications seem to be in check now, and hopefully you are just on the mend and any problems you were experiencing before are gone, or will be when you are fully healed.

I don't know whether or not you'll get to see this in time or not. But, not to worry, they still do it. My Mother had a hyster. years ago, she's deceased now, but, it was in the 70's and she use to tell the story about when she was going to get a hyster. she got her period and asked the Dr. that morning if she can still get it done. He said yeah, say goodbye to it because that's the last you'll see it. I would think it they did it then, they proably will do it now. Good luck!

Thanks. Saw the surgeon today and everything is looking good. I'm so glad the coughing didn't undo any of the surgery. Definitely on the mend, back to walking without a cane, and feeling like doing some small chores around the house. I even ironed some of my hubby's shirts...I must be feeling better, LOL.
