Hi I am new to this website. I am 51 years old and will be 52 this summer. I will be ever so glad with my periods stop. I know I will be trading off for some other health issues but will not miss the cramps, Heavy bleeding and tampons. I will celebrate when the day comes.

Deb,

I am post-menopausal as of mid-October of last year.

Not having periods is GREAT. smile.gif

I bought all new undies! tongue.gif Gave away all my monthly products! Don't have to watch the calendar anymore - yippee!

Most of my perimenopausal symptoms are MUCH better, and if I could only lose the anxiety/depression, I'd be thrilled! Still riding THAT wave, but praying it will pass soon...

You will enjoy being period-free! smile.gif

Thank you for your reply. Yes I look forward to the day when I can give all the monthly stuff to my daughter who has many years to look forward to her period. She is only 16 and has a long way to go!

Welcome, Deb,
Hi JJ,

I'm 52, still in peri, but have gone a grand total of 165 days since my last period. It seems like such a long time ago that I was buying pads and tampons about every time I went shopping. Today I was at Wal-Mart, walking down that old familiar aisle, and just felt SO happy that I wasn't plucking those boxes off the shelf. I don't miss my period at all, not one iota. Of course, I must be realistic -- I haven't gotten to the official mark of one year -- I could still get one, but it doesn't stop me from being happy about not having to deal with the monthly curse. wink.gif

Its nice hearing from you. I know your glad that it is all behind you. I have started a journal for my daughter. She will have some idea what her Old Mom went through and when I finished. Good luck to you and do keep in touch. I would love to hear from you again.

A journal sounds like a great idea. Your daughter will definitely appreciate it when it's her time ! I wish my mother had done the same. :-)
