I know I am on what seems to be a fast decline on estrogen. I have hot flashes daily hourly, I am so weepy, dizzy, and I have been getting these funny sensations in my head like something cold has press against my scalp. It won't be my whole head just I area at a time. I am home today with such unbalanced feelings like I'm am actually leaning to one side. I have had this symptoms for a few mo. now off and on( the dizziness lightheaded feeling they did and mri and it was normal) my ears feel stuffy alot. My hand are tingly so I probably am hyperventalating at this point. I am trying to stay calm, but this cold feeling on my head is scary. It isn't constant, it last just a couple of min.

Does anyone here have a good diet that actually helps? I had an appt. with a nutritionalist today that I canceled due to excessive medical bills, I thought I could do this on my own anyway...it can't be that hard to find the right things to eat, or can it sad.gif I appologize for my neediness lately. Thanks Mikki

also I wanted to add I am getting these flashes of light when my eyes are closed as if someone took a picture and auroa. I had my eyes checked also they are fine...now you can start to see why my medical bills are out of control. Mikki

Mik - you're not needy, you're just scared and that's a perfectly normal when you're world's been turned upside down! What you're feeling is hormonal mixed with anxiety. The cold feeling is like small cold flashes - yes, we can have cold flashes as well as hot. The tingling hands, the flashes of lights behind the eyes...all hormones & worsened by anxiety. It WILL calm down Mik - honest it will. You're just having a tough time right now. I get the light headedness too and it drives me nuts. I've also have the flashing lights - everything you're having now, I've had myself and know it's hormonal, and it will pass.

As for what to eat - why not check the web? Type in nutritional needs for perimenopause, and see what comes up? You might be surprised at what you find....

i think the worst for me is first physical and then emotional symptoms. i feel all these strange sensations - cold flashes, heart palps, tingling, numbness, neck pains, back pain, aches, fatigue... lightheadness, nausea, all coming after me one after another... i had no period for 6 months, then it came, and now it's another 2 months without... waiting for that 12 month mark.

i sometimes don't know whether i'm peri or just the meds supposed to help me with peri making me feel so sick. i'm trying celexa and on ativan but celexa is giving me side effects. it's helped me a little with fatigue for now. but the other side effects are driving me nuts.

anyhow has this trapped feeling like your body is holding you back from doing what you want to do? i want to live!

kollette, I agree with you. I want to go back to work (been a stay at home mom for six years) but I don't want to get a job and then lose it because of peri symptoms. I feel like peri is holding me back from doing what i want to do and that is so frustrating.

absolutely moodswings, how long will this last...? last fri, i went to work, but came back early because i had insomnia the night before. today, i woke up, nervous, lightheaded, faint, and wait till i felt better, went in late. my boss had to stand in for my training session. i don't know how long more i can stay at work with this track record? but i spend so much money on medical tests, pills, etc, i have to work!

Dear Mikki
You are NOT being needy, lets get that straight right now smile.gif As mentionned you are a woman in the throes of peri, scared, anxious, and seeking some sort of help and calmness. Hopefully you will find that here on Surge smile.gif

I know that you are up to the wazoos in medical bills...but..have you seen an allergist? Sometimes as we age we develop allergies that we never experienced before and subsequently are not aware of having.....Just a thought.

Here is to you !!
Hugs !!

Thanks for the encouragment...I guess I just feel like I am rather dependent right now. I have had to quit my job over the past couple of weeks, I am or was self employed cleaning, and I have let my customers go.
Things over the past few mo. have just escalated. I have had symptoms of "something not right" for about 5 yr's( i'm 39), but I started to get hotflashes a few mo. ago and things have snow balled since. I am getting those cold little prickly feelings all over my upper body now. it is no wonder we get sooo scared.

I did actually go to an allergist and found I was suddenly allergic to our cat and extremly allergic to dust and mites( figures with a cleaning business)of course that was near a thousand $ to find that out, not to mention the echo. card.for the palp's, ultrasounds for the heavy bleeding, mammo for lumpy breasts I have ins. but thye don't pay everything. Now I know why premiums jump for women over 40.

Anyway I am thinking of going to get some estriol vaginal cream...but am scared to try it. With all the neg. plublicity estrogen gets. I can't stand this anymore and my dr. appt. is next fri. to dicuss bio's, I'm not even sure he will give them to me seeing as I have heard you have to be in "menopause" to get them. I will search this site and try to get more info on the cream. thanks again it is good to have all of you to turn to. Mikki

Mik - I just replied in another posted about being in peri - how, things have changed over the years. I said, nowadays girls are developing faster. I started my periods when I was 15 (I'm almost 52 now). Today, it isn't uncommon for many girls to start theirs at 9 or 10. If you look at that...does anyone really think a woman who starts her period before teens, is only going to go through menopause at the now referred to 'average age' of 51? (ha!)

Unfortunately for us, women are changing, doctors are not. They still rely on what they learned in medical school which doesn't come close to what is factual now. Trust your body -
